Ontario Health has now expanded access and eligibility for Evusheld, a prophylactic monoclonal antibody therapy for immunocompromised patients

Primary immunodeficiencies are caused by genetic defects that disrupt the body’s immune system. Frequently, genetic mutations run in families. Having a genetic diagnosis can provide important info about disease course and risk of recurrence in future offspring #WorldPIWeek

Newborn screening for severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) allows babies to be diagnosed and treated before severe and life-threatening infections begin. Screening is done by collecting a small amount of blood (heelprick test) and measuring TREC levels. #WorldPIWeek
