@frogmaster300 @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 People justify poor decisions, yes. Eating badly, breaking the law etc. We are very good at constructing reasons to justify poor behaviour. This is separate to whether people choose their beliefs. We are either convinced of propositions i.e. the earth is round, or not.

@ImmutableXY @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 I agree, but would say that people are often quite capable of telling themselves that what they know is true is not true... Untill they convince themselves of it. It is certainly not wise or healthy

@frogmaster300 @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 Yes, we can search for what is true. But we can't simply choose what we accept as true, or not. If we do choose what we believe, then please choose to believe the world is triangular, that your name is Mrs. Higglesbottom, and that your God doesn't exist. Can you do it?

@ImmutableXY @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 Dont intent to be. (Meant it occurs far more frequently, illogical or not) All faith is tested, you can believe, and ignore its precepts till you fall I disagree, we can search for what is true, and if found, choose to follow or not. Christianity is called to spread the news

@ImmutableXY @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 agreed "forming ones conscience": denying/avoiding the right thing knowing you are wrong is wrong (regardless of religion/lack of it) Doing good or bad is training oneself to do good or bad, each act reinforcing behavior, making you firmer in the path you are choosing.

@NewChristiandom @Ihunanya_chi AI is not. It doesn't have access to scholarship, just what people have written online. Outsourcing hermeneutics to AI is criminal. Does Jesus say he doesn't want to go? Nope. Jesus says 'I am not going' Does it say 'in private'? Nope. It says 'in secret'. You're being dishonest

No one on this earth is naturally sinless, not a single person. We are all born with a sinful nature. That’s why even a young child, just two or three years old, can already lie; it shows that sin is part of human nature. This clearly reveals that Jesus was different. He is God in the flesh. God has no sin in Him, He is perfect. Jesus carried that divine nature because He is God manifested in human form. That is why, even though He was tempted, He never sinned. Even Pilate could find no fault in Him. Jesus is the only perfect man who has ever walked this earth. Every other person has sinned.

@frogmaster300 @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 Yes, many people lose their faith. Some for good reasons, some for bad reasons. Whether you believe, or not you will tend to seek out information which reinforces your belief i.e. 'convince' yourself you are right.

@ImmutableXY @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 People within a religion do the same... little thing by little thing until they stop following all together. (God will for give me if i do this... then this) eventually you can convince your self you were never in the wrong (never asking for forgiveness the unforgivable sin)

@frogmaster300 @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 It seems like you're pretending to be a mind reader to me. If people believe in a religion then they believe in that religion. Easy. Sure, maybe they aren't as pious or faithful as they could be. Also, we don't choose what we believe. Believing in God isn't a choice.

@ImmutableXY @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 Trust me when i say more people than you'd think... Christianity gets hard on the things where you have to make a choice, perhaps its the shame of joining a socially lesser group, or being forced to renounce a former way of life...or out of fear (though guilt may be far less)

@NewChristiandom @Ihunanya_chi You have to mangle the text, and pretend he said he didn't want to preach, and that he went 'in private'. He said 'I am not going'. And went 'in secret'. You're being dishonest with the text. Dishonest, like Jesus was. And AI isn't equipped to deal with interpretation like this.

@ImmutableXY @Ihunanya_chi You don’t want to believe. So believe what you want to believe. This is the nature of the human heart. Ask grok. Ask ChatGPT. Ask Gemini. Jesus did not lie.

Magachurch Pastor🙏🇺🇸
As a conservative evangelical, I am a strong proponent of the death penalty, mostly because Jesus never spoke against it. And since the biblical example is stoning, I’m in favor of that too, even though a firing squad is more efficient 🙏🇺🇸

@NewChristiandom @Ihunanya_chi 'I am not going to this festival, for my time has not yet fully come.' I am not going. Then he went 'in secret' (this is what the text says, not 'in private') That is an obvious direct lie.

@ImmutableXY @Ihunanya_chi That was not a lie. He did not want to go to the festival to announce Himself and to preach. He did not go to the festival to announce Himself. He did not go to preach. He went in private. There is no lie.

@frogmaster300 @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 Who knows a religion is true and rejects it anyway? That's like saying someone knows 1 + 1 = 2 but refuses to admit it is. Maybe toddlers do that when they're obstinate, but besides that who?

@ImmutableXY @Hellbender420 @RX_9999_2 True. The real danger comes from ignoring one's conscience and choosing what one knows is wrong. The ones truly at risk are those who know the faith is truth, and reject it anyways (inside of Christianity, too).

@SherrySherrmorr @magachrchpastr I understand you do. The woman caught in adultery story isn't present in our earliest manuscripts of John. And we do not choose what we believe. If we do, please choose to stop believing in your God.

@larbon_jam @EbeyNezer1 @LASHYBILLS It just reflects a bias present in each generation. Each generation is presented with different challenges, and has its own strengths and weaknesses. 'Kids these days' is a dumb cliche for a reason.

@Robirv123 @JesusisChristX Jesus is not bound by time or space, so he saved her, using his death on the Cross before it happened, to save her before she was conceived. Don't tell me, Jesus can't do that if he wants to. Jesus can do anything.

@AndrewDavid @Saffron_Sniper1 Yes, wherein Jesus claims he'll be back within a generation. Paul and John echo this sentiment. 2000 years later and still not even a postcard.
