It’s a common feature of the primary school classroom. The behaviour chart on the wall, with children’s names on pegs. Children are moved from the sun to the clouds, or from green to red if their behaviour isn’t what is required by their teacher. 1/

I heard someone say, “we treat the adoption industry as if it’s there to provide wannabe parents with children, and not children with safe homes.” and when I tell you I’ve never had a world view change so fast

People aren’t dying because NHS staff are striking. NHS staff are striking because people are dying. Please RT if you get that.

A good working alliance in psychotherapy does not mean the patient likes you It means there’s enough connection, safety, and trust that they can hate you—𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵

Over-reliance on English hinders cognitive science: it has led to premature claims of universality (due to over-sampling of English speakers) and limited the cognitive constructs being examined (due to the use of English as a meta-language). doi.org/10.1016/j.tics…

A short 😔 thread: This evening I watched the beautiful @EllieSimmonds1 waltz on @bbcstrictly, it was stunning. I felt proud to see a disabled woman dancing on prime time TV, not a show about disability, but looking glamorous & dancing so well. Then I come on here & see...

Always remember, when you compliment weight loss, you could be complimenting: -an eating disorder - grief - depression - chronic illnesses - cancer Instead simply ask..... How are you doing? Please do not comment on the body.

@drvicclarke @ginnybraun Eddie was more than happy to supervise my first thematic analysis. He wasn’t very forthcoming with advice, however…

If you know someone who’s a therapist & they don’t respond back quickly when you reach out, please don’t immediately think you’re the reason. Helping & talking to people is a major part of our job. By the time our days are over talking or texting is the last thing we want to do.

Today I heard from a parent that their son was terribly upset when he got covid, because it would ruin his 100% attendance record. At the end of the year, those with 100% get book tokens & certificates in assembly. Here’s why policies like that should stop. 1/

Hello! Could you maybe deliver those marmalade sandwiches to people who need them rather than leaving them outside a palace? Thanks.

Running a business upside down is far more fun than telling everyone what to do…helping and trusting people to run the business on your behalf makes sense both culturally and financially. Less control…more trust and kindness instead!
