The U.S. lost a total of 4 aircraft during their rescue operation for two F-15E crew members, including 2 C-130 military transport aircraft, 1 A-10 warthog close attack aircraft, and 1 helicopter of an unknown type.
This was very clearly a PR operation so Trump and some other officials could make some victory tweets appealing to the general public by pushing the narrative “not one soldier left behind”, amid the failures to open the strait of Hormuz, failures to stop Iranian military capabilities, and the dawning reality that a ground operation by the U.S. is not possible.

@ArmchairAdml Rumors that they want to pick Boeing to be the winner for this contract, but they don't think Boeing has enough manpower to design two fighters at the same time (F-47 & F/A-XX). So slowing it down. Maybe they should just go with one of the other companies even if it is inferior.
