@EyeOfScar @chloe_vz Unity does not support MDI and has never supported it. There is some confusioning documentation in some of the APIs (I believe BRG and maybe DrawMeshInstanced) that implies MDI support, but those docs were changed years ago to avoid confusion

@chloe_vz Is it so? I know it is broken in Unity. Stuff like Multi Indirect Draw has been broken for like few versions now and they don't seemed to be getting fixed so we had to go about it different ways.

UE5 has all the foundational problems UE3 had and it still persists. From bloated actor classes to components with mega overheads that eats up memory. Everything UE does, other in-house engines like Anvil, Cryengine, etc does way better and are performant without stutters.

Unreal 5 is a great engine that allows artists to get technical empowering games to be more innovative than ever. bad performance comes from poor planning from the start, and not enough engineering staff, not inherently from the engine.

@PetreRaleigh For my small bubble of game dev and some tech stuff Bluesky is currently edging on being better (for me personally, not broadly) because a lot of people that left Twitter years ago are now active. Expanding to wider more important things you're probably right though
