Well so long Senator Cassidy You did good voting to convict Trump. But then you tried to hold on to your position, backed RFK JR (at first) and basically managed to not be trusted by either side. Dumbass

@avi_eisen @GsuGrinding See, I absolutely believe this admin would arrest Fauci with or without a reasonable chance of getting an indictment, much less a conviction. Just good red meat for their base

@computercart That’s incredibly bizarre, but I’d honestly like to try it. Seems like it would taste a bit like a combo of mustard and sweet relish

As far as the two drivers in the canoe -- the front guy is Ernie Triplett. Ernie was the AAA Pacific Southwest champion in 1931 and 1932. The other was Deacon Litz, who was said to be one of the biggest drivers of the time period -- 6'2, ~225 lbs.

@Ike_Saul It wouldn’t have been a tie-breaking vote. If Fetterman votes yes, it’s a 50-49 vote to stop the war. Sen. Ricketts was out and couldn’t vote no to make it 50-50

@sambecks31 @Variety It’s 100% scraping from legal writing, that’s what I’m saying. AI tends to do it without rhyme or reason, but lawyers do it as a way to succinctly and preemptively attempt to counter the opposing party’s argument. That said, I think this lawsuit’s going nowhere

@ImpotentMusings @Variety Agree to respectfully disagree. A tell tale use of AI is insisting on what something ISN’T multiple times, until you finally succinctly mention one word of what it is. The most generous explanation is that it is scraping from legal writing.

James Cameron and the Walt Disney Company are being sued over the unauthorized use of an actress’ likeness without her knowledge or consent for “Avatar.” Q'orianka Kilcher alleges that when she was 14 years old and had recently appeared as Pocahontas in “The New World,” Cameron extracted her facial features from a published photograph and directed his design team to use them as the foundation for the character Neytiri. variety.com/2026/film/news…

@sambecks31 @Variety That’s not really a good tell for AI use, since it’s an extremely linguistic construction, especially in legal writing. The reason that it’s so prevalent in AI writing is that it’s also prevalent in the training data the AI models are pulling from

@Variety I love how the lawyer couldn’t even be bothered to weigh in organically. He just ran it through AI and sent Variety this slop. “…was not inspiration, it was extraction.” “…is not filmmaking. That is theft.” Good lord.

“Lost Woods” Indiana used to have forests so dense travelers disappeared into them often enough the place kept the name. Now it’s fence lines, drainage tile, and soybean fields. People talk about the Midwest like it’s timeless farmland. Most of it was forced into this shape surprisingly recently.

@S1apSh0es Andor feels like something convinced to be set in the world of Star Wars, while most other stuff feels like it was conceived to be set in the franchise of Star Wars.

It’s amazing that The Acolyte had a bigger budget than Andor and had a shorter runtime, but still managed to feel claustrophobic and unimaginative; like we were stuck on the same set for 90% of the scenes. Yet Andor felt like this sprawling space opera spanning the whole galaxy.

@jeff_gluck What’s crazy is that he probably remembers a time where it wasn’t the national anthem! It was adopted in 1931, so he would have been 5 or 6 when that happened
