About a year ago, I spoke with a business who were looking for a redesign of their website. They had a great cause which focused on online safety for kids and, being a parent, I was really interested. Unfortunately, they ended up going with an agency instead. One with a flashy website full of distractions like smooth scrolling, etc. You win some, you lose some. Out of curiosity, I checked in on the website today and I was surprised to find something I thought must be a DIY job. It isn't a DIY. It's a "professionally" designed website with page speed scores lower than I've ever seen. Wowsers.

I’m concerned by how this will potentially impact everyone's ability to sell/pitch WordPress and VIP to clients. I doubt any of us wants to be in a situation where we have to explain what’s going on to a potential client. Any suggestions on how to go about this?
