The agreement between @NASCAR teams and the sanctioning body, or lack there of, is very interesting. I think I’ve got a fair solution to one of the pillars of contention, permanent charters, yet I haven’t heard the idea from anyone else Promotion and relegation

Lame excuse. At least they addressed it, I guess...

.@FoxSports says that it was forced to change its plans to run no full-screen ads during green-flag racing at Talladega yesterday due to the first stage going without a caution and how that messed with its intended ad load. ➡️ The company's overall NASCAR plans remain unchanged.

There is no reason ever to waste 7 laps under caution at a superspeedway stage break. That’s essentially 10-15 minutes…

The last NASCAR car to make me interested in the street going version was the Chevy SS. It was unique and being the cup car gave it something to stand on. Camaros and Mustangs stand alone and won’t ever carry an identity as “what they use in NASCAR” like the SS did.

Automotive OEMs could move beyond the “Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday” mentality and embrace a branding-driven approach. Focus on cultivating passion for motorsports, letting that enthusiasm for racing translate directly into the products they build and the community they create.

This is stupid, you all had 4 ad breaks during the last 25 laps of Stage 1 and then you went Green for 3 LAPS and then went back to commercial. You are not a serious network FOX #NASCAR

Even if Stages 2 and 3 are bangers, this is still such a bad look to just throw away 98 laps of a race and chalk it up to, we'd rather have it be bad now than later. It's a crap situation all around. It could be a Band-Aid for now, but something needs fixing here.
Jeff Gluck@jeff_gluck

Here's the thing (and why they changed the stages): If they're going to aggressively save fuel, would you rather they do it in Stage 1 or Stage 3? Yes this sucks, but if it's a must (and it is until something changes on the cars), might as well get it over with early?

@slaygirlslay26 For Speedways, how so? The whole race is working backwards to try to get the shortest last stop since the cars can’t pass. As long as that’s the case, fuel saving won’t go away Eliminating the cautions might just change when teams pit. And we’d have more green flag commercials

This is pretty much how I felt about OD for a few years. I blamed him a lot of the sports wrong directions and called for his termination But, in the wake of learning how detrimental Jim France has been to the sport, I’m giving OD a clean slate It’s on him now though
ElitePrecision29@lmm2996

How can I feel postive about steve O'Donnell becoming CEO of this sport when he was the one that lead the charge in developing the gen 7.... The car that fucked up plate racing, short tracks and road courses....

This isn't related to Carson Hocevar in any way but I'm very glad these races don't hand out automatic playoff berths anymore. We can actually enjoy a cool winner instead of arguing over whether they deserve to be in the playoffs!

@CollinMFern And yet we needed a lawsuit that took the sport to its rock bottom to try an impress upon the sanctioning body (mostly the CEO/owner of the sport) that the teams and drivers are what actually matter for the sport

This booth sucks. This racing sucks. The cars suck. Everything about our premier series sucks except the drivers & teams. Pretty pathetic to watch on TV.

We all want what’s best for NASCAR, right? There’s a reason why the NASCAR O’Reilly Series has better overall racing, specifically at Talladega. We deserve the best racing. Today was a mess. The NextGen car is the issue. We can fix this by building a better stock car.

People watch and attend NASCAR races for 1: the racing, and 2: the spectacle. Nobody goes to watch “manufacturer technology”, The very second “manufacturer technology” starts taking away from the racing or the spectacle is the very second NASCAR needs to tell them to kick rocks.

I refuse to believe it's impossible to see what we saw Saturday on Sundays anymore. Whether it's a heavily redesigned Next Gen or a whole new car, I will never buy the "Oreilly is good because the drivers are inexperienced" or "the teams have less R&D" excuses
Auto Racing Analytics@AR_Analytics

I feel like tv’s trying to sell me that I should like this, and I really just want to see what I saw yesterday but maybe a little faster and harder to drive with the best drivers in the world
