I've been laid off by EA. Let's talk about it. If you're an indie team looking for work with the creator space, I'm happy to help.

Atari used to make a video game consoles and exclusive cartridges...until they didn't Mattel did the same...until they didn't Namco & Acclaim dominated the arcade for nearly 15 years, that's not true anymore Things change. Players change. There is still time to see new companies rise...and fall

@InGameMenu @KraigLooney No matter what, there will be people who say GTA6 is a disappointment. The expectations and hype are not able to be completely met and everyone will have an opinion. My only negative opinion right now is the lack of a PC port but I'm sure I'll get one eventually.

In my experience whenever an industry decides to price out the lower price customers, those individuals end up finding alternatives and the creatives end up creating for that group. Ultimately the corporations never really succeed in making a product that doesn't serve the community that built it.

I really worry that a lot of people will get priced out of gaming with used games going away with discs. I know when I was younger, I would never have been able to afford some games at full price. Used games were a saving grace.

Based on my inbox, it's a good time to remind people that while I work on a lot of franchises at EA -- I do not work on sports games. ✌️

@KraigLooney @moblordTV I remember the sentiment around Red Dead being the game felt like work because they were too focused on realism that the fun was hard to find. It's why they have such a low completion rate on their games

@moblordTV Well failing isnt quite the same as bad though. Like lots of folks will be there day 1, doing all the GTA things. All the details, all the guns, driving and story, but I am curious if the expectations are so high they are unmeetable

@InGameMenu I've had that thought. But... It's too big to fail. I mean, it could still fail, but it's so big that it'll take down a huge portion of the industry with it if it does. So it can't be bad. They just can't allow it to be actually bad. The worst it can be is mid.

One take @jasonschreier back at it again. What makes his videos hit for me is his ability and skill to speak on topics and situations that A LOT OF US simply can't speak up on. For the arm chair game analyst who think they understand what's going on, or folks who genuinely want to get insight on the good bad ugly of games, check these out youtu.be/6y3Gx_Aw2Oo?is…

Don't get me wrong it's not their track record and they certainly have plenty to assume otherwise but... Could you even imagine it?

Vouch. Truth is it's been around and is loved as much as it is because of the investment needed, but it's so forgiving when you return. If you have to play alot of titles for work it's fair to not have the ability, but if you can dedicate the hours and break through you won't regret it

@nickjcal the @xiFlynn beginner guide is great for new/returning players. Was a huge help when I came back to the game after years.

I hate how nobody enjoys BAD videogames anymore. Back in the day, we used to play the hell out of straight garbage titles would have so much fun. Anyone remember the good garbage?

@Bryanneod237 @PlNKWithAnL ^^ I think we had Tem Tem, and MH stories not even got close and they were both under scrutiny from Nintendo. This is genuinely a renaissance of the genre and the other games that have suddenly emerged show it. I think the industry is better for it.

@PlNKWithAnL @InGameMenu Survival I can see but monster taming? Pffft, it's Palworld itself that opened up that gate and now we're in a semi-renaissance of monster taming games popping out consistently

I hope the industry finally stops learning all the wrong lessons from games like this. 1) Early access means early opportunity to play and feedback, not a kickstarter 2) Do strange things and listen to community feedback 3) Build what you believe in not a trend 4) Celebrate your team and community
