The Seven could be real, or at least the faith could be gesturing at some underlying reality, I think the dismissal of this possibility is partially because it's the medieval Christianity stand-in. (And the lack of obvious 'magic' ofc.)

@EJLibertad @Gimply32 @bloodonacross The Seven might be more like Tao or Logos, something closer to the fabric of reality itself than a being that answers prayers. Which would make them harder to perceive than other deities but not lesser. If anything they'd be ontologically prior to the likes of R'hllor.

One of the things I like about ASOIAF is that the faith of the seven is the least evil religion because it's the one that isn't real. All the real religions are some form of incredibly fucked up
