@MatthewWielicki It also means there is no global warming. Otherwise, the record would be beaten every year.

The UK just “smashed” its May temperature record… but here’s the part the Met Office conveniently leaves out: The PREVIOUS record was set in 1922. That’s 104 years ago. Long before SUVs, private jets, or modern CO₂ emissions. Heathrow Airport didn’t even exist yet. The area was literally farmland and small villages. So if a 1922 heatwave could produce nearly identical temperatures in a world with ~130 ppm less CO₂, maybe, just maybe, natural variability plays a much bigger role than the panic merchants admit.
Met Office@metoffice

Temperatures at Heathrow have recently reached 33.5°C, provisionally beating the all-time May record

The Public Sector is growing. The expansion of the state continues. Pay rises for state employess exponentially growing. The Private sector and business are being taxed to the hilt. To fund the public sector. It's not sustainable.

Well said again, Mike Garner - a family that’s struggling to feed their kids isn’t going to save £40 on a £200 trip to a theme park. Labour are insane and certainly not on the side of the little people.
Mike Gardner@mikegardner_wb

A family who can’t afford to feed their kids is not going to spend £200 going to a theme park. And what difference does a “saving” of less than £1.70 make on a £200 family outing? Trevor Philips ridicules’ Darren Jones’ defence of Labour’s absurd Government by gimmick policy.

@roaring2047 Well said, there has been an increase in numbers in independent schools in 2026 👍

@InPoetsShoes There are very many SEND children without EHCPs who have been accommodated very well in independent schools. Moving said children is likely to cause significant stress.

Saving VAT on theme park visits is a very bitter pill to swallow for parents of SEND children at independent school, many of whom struggle to find the extra hundreds of pounds to pay the World’s only non-subsidised education tax.

@SteveLawrence_ Isn't it directed to schools rather than a per child quota?

Keir Starmer says his “strong leadership” has cut a family of 4 Alton Towers ticket from £200 to £198.36 under the ‘Great British Summer Savings Scheme’. He said: “It currently costs £200 for a family of 4 to visit Alton Towers but with my great British summer savings scheme that is reduced to £198.36.” (Satire)

@realninawysocka @RayMairead That won't have any impact. You clown, how about we lower our taxes—for example, by not paying overtime taxes? Reduce the amount of taxes we pay and increase our income like reforms will do.

@realninawysocka "Can I have an alton towers family ticket?" "We don't do family tickets" "I'll give you £200 for one" "But it's only £30 a ticket so family of 4 would be £120" "But I have £200" 😄😄 ffs

How can they not realise how fucking trite all this sounds? It's like they think the average British family is still squeezing into a Morris Minor on the break of Summer to deflate at Pontins because we haven't heard of Corfu yet. "Alton Towers, you say? Oh boy! Nan, get the flask, we're set!"🤡
