🚨 Rico Verhoeven’s coach Peter Fury revealed that he was on the same plane as the referee after the fight, and the ref admitted that he didn’t hear the bell before stopping it 🗣️ “I said, ‘You’ve made a mistake…’ And he said to me, which is really important, ‘Peter, I didn’t hear the bell.’” Via (@IFLTV)

🚨 Rico Verhoeven suggests he'll appeal the loss to Oleksandr Usyk after seeing it was stopped after the bell "They stopped the fight after the bell. I think we might just go and appeal it because this doesn't make any sense. When the referee came in, I wasn't dazzled or whatever. I was looking at the referee like 'why are you stopping, we're almost there'. It didn't make any sense to me. That's something he should be aware of. Of course mistakes can be made, but the referee should admit his mistake. Look back at it and say it's either a No Contest, or we go to the scorecards. And if we go to the scorecards, I was ahead." My X been acting up all day but in a short summary today’s event from Egypt looked spectacular. I was blown away by Rico and how well he performed. He was on the verge of the greatest upset maybe ever in sports and got robbed of that. Just such a shame #UsykRico
