Last night, Israeli forces intercepted and boarded a humanitarian aid flotilla bound for Gaza in international waters off the coast of Greece — unlawfully detaining more than 175 people, including several New Yorkers. My team has been in direct contact with State and Federal partners as we work to confirm the whereabouts and conditions of these New Yorkers. This is a brazen violation of international law. Those detained must be released.

@Krisco7791 @NYCMayor I acknowledge that UN Resolution 242 asks Isreal to withdraw from territories occupied in recent conflict with neighbouring countries, but it's a know fact that Israel occupation of Jerusalem & other Palestinian territories is against International Law as stated in Resolution 446

@Krisco7791 @NYCMayor Has West been vocal and concerned with what Isreal has been doing since 1967 and did not given a freehand to Isreal for all these years, Hamas would not have come into being. You can't oppress people for years and expect no reaction in return.

I acknowledge Hamas wasn't involved in 1967. My point was their refusal to accept Israel after their 2006 victory, concerning UN Resolution 242, and the reason Israel stayed in the West Bank. The violence began soon after in 2006, making their ongoing presence justified by security concerns once they withdrew.

@Krisco7791 @NYCMayor Looks like you can't identify elephant in the room. Why does Isreal has to wait for all these years when Hamas didn't even existed, to act upon UN Resolution? Hamas was created as the result of Isreal's occupation and their war crimes against Palestinians for all these years!

@Krisco7791 @NYCMayor For all those years, it was Isreal who never implemented or had any intention to implement and withdraw it's forces. Hamas was created as a result of Isreal's atrocities that has been committed against Palestinians for years and West have been deaf for all these years!

What was problematic about Israel’s attitude toward the UN Resolutions when they accepted them and were pleased to have a pathway to statehood? It was the Palestinians who rejected the UN resolutions because they disagreed with the partition plan when Israel was awarded more land, and they were the minority. It was also Hamas that refused to stop the violence and made it clear they had no intentions of stopping until Israel was destroyed.

That's how the resistance begins when a country doesn't even bother about UN and it's Resolutions & then conveniently lecture others about the importance of UN 😂

In 2006, when Hamas was elected, they, along with Lebanon, refused to recognize Israel and vowed to continue their efforts to destroy it. After being attacked by rockets and Israelis having to live in bomb shelters, they developed the Iron Dome and declared, "Game on!" We support and defend Ukraine in its fight for sovereignty against Russia. Still, the world looks away when Israel is not only defending its sovereignty but also its right to exist.

The UN confirmed Hamas committed war crimes on Oct 7, which were a direct violation of international humanitarian laws! Partisan ideology destabilizes democracy; aren't you supposed to be fighting to protect it? It may be time to discourage maritime protests, and if they're offering aid, ensure it's loaded onto the boat before setting sail! Foreign ministries have confirmed there was no aid, just a boat full of agitators!

@Krisco7791 @NYCMayor UN has also passed multiple resolutions demanding that Israel end its "unlawful presence" in the occupied Palestinian territories, but that's not according to your wishes therefore no need to quote it. Who gives a damm about what UN says... Hypocrisy at it's best!!
