Cute framing. Now the part you left out: FIFA prohibits political statements at matches and fined Argentina for this identical banner in 2014. Park Jong-woo got a two match ban for a territorial banner at London 2012. Rodri and Morata were suspended for Gibraltar chants after Euro 2024. Even poppy armbands earned England a FIFA fine. Celebrating rule-breaking irredentism as banter is a strange hill. Sport works precisely because politics is kept off the pitch.
