@Dr_Oubre Exactly! Whenever I listen to it, I imagine back-to-back portal messages for Monkey Doctor, each replied with the smart phrase: "No more monkeys jumping on the bed."

From @JAMAPediatrics: Tablet use during early childhood may lead to more frequent child expressions of anger and frustration. Over time this could lead to a problematic cycle whereby children who express more anger also engage in more tablet use. ja.ma/3X0WGsk

Thank you for sharing! I am surprised that responses to LCT did not differ among patients with and without NDDs, as we often see disinhibition. I fully agree that this underscores the limitations of BFCRS in capturing the full catatonia picture in NDD.

First reported case of catatonia in a pediatric patient with MED13L haploinsufficiency syndrome. N=1, but we learned 2 key lessons: 1) if you don’t look, you may miss catatonia in rare genetic disorders 2) ECT is effective, and R/B/A discussion is nuanced. journals.lww.com/ectjournal/ful…

The Benevolent Childhood Experiences (the opposite of the ACEs) try to capture the positive things in a childhood that can enhance long term outcomes in mental health. Important to evaluate the good things that can happen in a child’s life rather than just the negatives.

Making a diagnosis of catatonia can be a life-or-death issue. 2 cases where hospice referral was considered for patients who subsequently made substantial improvements with ECT: neuro.psychiatryonline.org/doi/full/10.11….
