U.S. military: " U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) completed an additional round of strikes against Iran at 10 p.m. ET, July 14, hitting dozens of military targets near the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian coastal areas. U.S. fighter aircraft, drones, and naval vessels launched precision munitions against Iranian missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, and coastal defense systems during the seven-hour wave to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian crews. The strikes took place the same day U.S. forces resumed the naval blockade against vessels transiting to or from Iranian ports and coastal areas. The blockade went into effect at 4 p.m. ET today. U.S. forces remain vigilant, lethal, and prepared to execute operations directed by the Commander in Chief."

Following President Donald J. Trump's announcement this morning that the U.S. naval blockade of Iran will resume, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed blockade operations will resume at 4:00 p.m. ET on July 14. During the previous 66-day blockade (April 13–June 18), U.S. forces redirected approximately 140 commercial vessels away from Iranian ports, disabled nine vessels that failed to comply with coalition directives, and allowed more than 50 vessels to proceed on humanitarian grounds. The renewed blockade comes as tensions continue to escalate following Iranian attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, multiple rounds of U.S. strikes against Iranian military targets, and Tehran's declaration that the Strait is closed.

President Donald J. Trump formally notified Congress of the resumption of U.S. military operations against Iran on Friday July 10th, fulfilling his reporting obligations under the War Powers Resolution. The notification follows the renewal of U.S. strikes on Iranian military targets and the reinstatement of the naval blockade of Iran, actions taken in response to Iran's continued attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against U.S. interests and regional partners. Under the War Powers Resolution of 1973, the President is required to notify Congress within 48 hours of introducing U.S. Armed Forces into hostilities or situations where hostilities are imminent. The notification does not itself authorize military action but satisfies the statute's reporting requirements while Congress retains its constitutional oversight role.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has begun a third round of strikes in as many days against Iranian military targets, with operations commencing at approximately 4:45 p.m. ET, marking another escalation in the rapidly expanding confrontation centered on the Strait of Hormuz. The latest strikes follow days of Iranian attacks on commercial shipping, Tehran's declaration that the Strait of Hormuz is closed, and previous U.S. operations targeting Iranian missile sites, naval assets, air defenses, command-and-control facilities, and coastal surveillance infrastructure. Today's operations also come after the revocation of the U.S. sanctions waiver covering Iranian petrochemical exports, President Donald J. Trump's announcement that the U.S. naval blockade of Iran will resume tomorrow, and his warning earlier today that "we're just going to hit them very hard" and that military action would continue "tonight and tomorrow."

The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced that the national tankers 'Mombasa' and 'Bahia' were struck by two Iranian cruise missiles while transiting the southern passage of the Strait of Hormuz in Omani territorial waters. According to the Ministry, one Indian crew member aboard the Mombasa was killed and eight others were injured, including four with serious injuries. The casualties include six Indian nationals and two Ukrainians. Both vessels sustained damage and onboard fires, which have since been extinguished. The government condemned the attack as a serious violation of international law, warning that it reserves the right to respond and stating its armed forces are on high alert as tensions continue to escalate in and around the Strait of Hormuz.

Here's the military air picture, visible via @flightradar24, over the Strait of Hormuz region at approximately 5:00 p.m. ET, as the United States commenced a new round of strikes against military targets in southern Iran in response to Tehran's continued attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait without Iranian authorization. Visible are multiple U.S. Air Force aerial refueling tankers operating alongside U.S. Air Force E-3 "Sentry" airborne early warning and control (AWACS) aircraft flying in racetrack orbits over western Saudi Arabia.
