“Prarambh-2026”, an outreach programme on the new Income-tax Act, 2025, was successfully conducted by the Office of the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemption), Thiruvananthapuram on 14th May 2026.

As part of PRARAMBH 2026, the Directorate of Income Tax (I&CI), Kochi, organized an outreach event in Kasargode on 14th May 2026 for Chartered Accountants, Income Tax Practitioners and State Tax Practitioners.

Shri. Saren Jose, IRS, Addl.Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-1, Thiruvananthapuram welcomed the dignitaries and participants to the event and provided a brief overview of the Income Tax Act, 2025.

An outreach programme on the new Income Tax Act, 2025 under “PRARAMBH 2026” was organised by the O/o the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Thiruvananthapuram at Kollam on 19/05/2026 with participation from over 100 stakeholders.

This session clarified the technicalities of the new tax regime, fostering direct engagement between the Department and the public. Furthermore, the Department assured taxpayers and practitioners of its continued hand-holding support to ensure a smooth transition to the new Act.

The session saw active participation from multiple stakeholders, including Chartered Accountants, tax practitioners, lawyers, students etc.

The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr. CCIT), Kochi, successfully hosted PRARAMBH 2026, a nationwide awareness campaign on the New Income Tax Act 2025, on May 12, 2026.

Young Tax Professionals from across BRICS came together from April 20th to 26th 2026 at the National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur for a high-impact capacity-building programme organised by the Central Board of Direct Taxes under India’s BRICS Chairship 2026. With strong focus on international taxation, transfer pricing, data security & leadership, the programme showcased CBDT’s deep expertise in these domains. Beyond technical learning, the event also offered a glimpse into India’s rich culture and traditions, along with a curated wildlife experience.
