The Mission hosted the tourism roadshow “Incredible India – Explore the Extraordinary” on 16 March 2026 at Sevit Island, bringing together approximately 120 stakeholders from the Korean travel industry, media, and travel writers. The event commenced with the traditional Lighting of the Lamp ceremony, led by Ambassador H.E. Mr. Gourangalal Das, Mr. Lee Jin-seok, President of the Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA), and Mr. Abhishek Gupta (Lucky), television personality and restaurateur. In his welcome remarks, Ambassador emphasized that strong people-to-people ties continue to deepen the India–Korea special strategic partnership, especially in tourism, and encouraged Korean stakeholders to view India not only as a destination but as a long-term partner offering diverse opportunities. The event featured presentations on luxury tourism, Buddhist heritage circuits, yoga and wellness, adventure tourism, and MICE opportunities in India. 오늘 오후 수브라마냠 자이샨카르(Subrahmanyam Jaishankar) 인도 외교 장관과 전화통화를 갖고, 양국 관계와 실질 협력 및 현 국제 정세에 대해 논의하였습니다. 저는 지난해 양국 정상 간 두 차례 정상회담 등을 통해 확인된 각별한 유대 관계를 바탕으로 올해 정상급 교류를 통해 양국 관계를 새로운 차원으로 도약시켜 나가자고 하였습니다. 자이샨카르 장관도 이에 동의하며, 높은 잠재력과 상호보완성을 지닌 한-인도 간 전략적 경제협력 확대를 위해 함께 노력하자고 했습니다. 또, 전 세계적으로 안보 경제에 큰 영향을 미치고 있는 중동 상황에 대해 논의하면서, 중동 상황 전개에 따라 양국 국민의 안전 조치를 취하는 데 있어 한-인도 간 긴밀히 소통하기로 했습니다. I had a phone call today with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar(@DrSJaishankar), India's Minister for External Affairs, to discuss bilateral relations, substantive cooperation and the current international situation. Building on the special bond reaffirmed through the two summit meetings between our leaders last year, I expressed hope that this year's highlevel exchanges would elevate Korea-India relations to a new level. Minister Jaishankar agreed and said we should work together to expand strategic economic cooperation between Korea and India, which has significant potential and strong complementarity. We also discussed the situation in the Middle East, which is having a major impact on global security and the economy, and agreed to maintain close communication on measures to ensure the safety of our nationals as the situation develops.

They consist of over 700 rock shelters and an extensive array of paintings and petroglyphs that document the dawn of humankind. The caves of Bhimbetka are an invaluable chronicle of human history. The paintings and petroglyphs in these cave systems were made over various prehistoric periods and give us a glimpse into our own cultural evolution. The caves, dating from the Mesolithic period, depict the transition from nomadic hunter-gatherers to settled farmers and early historical societies, showcasing representations of animals, humans, agriculture, and spiritual motifs. The Auditorium Cave, the largest and most impressive structure at Bhimbetka, features cupules believed to be over 100,000 years old, making these petroglyphs some of the oldest examples of prehistoric art in the world. In Bhimbetka, the past still lives and breathes through the culture and traditions of present-day agrarian communities inhabiting the adjacent villages.
