The US bond market is in major trouble today.
Just hours after President Trump's "10-day pause" of strikes on Iranian power plants, yields are at their highest level of the Iran War yet.
The 10Y Note Yield is up to 4.47% with mortgage rates hitting fresh 7-month highs.
In less than one month, markets have gone from discussing rate cuts to rate hikes, with the base case showing a Fed PAUSE for the next 18 months.
Keep in mind, the Fed was cutting interest rates because the labor market was weak, and it remains weak.
However, inflation expectations have just become an even bigger problem than the labor market.
This is objectively unsustainable.

As sweet as it was to offer. This will only drag it out longer, as democrats won’t have a reason to speed it up. I personally think the way to go is to strip Congress of all privileges at airports. Make them stand in the mess they created.

🚨 BREAKING: Elon Musk’s offer to pay TSA salaries has been DECLINED by the White House, per CBS President Trump signaled his excitement over @ElonMusk’s offer, and was moving forward with trying to make it happen. But federal laws severely limit private citizens’ abilities to pay US government employees, and this is likely a reason Elon’s offer has been declined. While private citizens are free to donate as much as they want to the Treasury, the Constitution requires Congress to appropriate the funds prior to disbursement from the Treasury. Which they obviously haven’t done.
