YSR universe ripped off Hollywood trope where the villain is actually within the hero org itself (mission impossible etc) and a hot female on the other side(James Bond etc). This is a necessary device for Hollywood because of the impression that no other country is as capable. These concepts are a complete mismatch for India/Pak setting. It is impossible for any sensible person to imagine that Pakistani ISI employs bikini clad hot women as field agents. This is why I have never seen a single YSR film and in general, I can't stand Bollywood movies. Dhurandhar is a welcome change because, despite several overworked themes, it is still in the area where suspension of disbelief is credible. Possibly because many events in the movie are absolutely historical, even the horrific ones involving Lyari gang violence.

"Maharashtra was not even a part of India until Aurangzeb captured it" 🤡 Here are some maps of the Māurya & Gupta Empires. Both predate your Timurid daddies by many centuries. And then when you're finished have a look at what Indian & foreign writers have to say about India.

Maharashtra was not even part of India until Aurangzeb captured it. Remember, Hindustanis and Deccanis were mutually exclusive people. Maharashtra is more of a sphere of influence kind of thing instead pf being a core part of India.

In 1795, Napoleon Bonaparte contemplated to go to India, join East India Company's Army and make a quick fortune so that he could amass handsome dowries for his three sisters. As it so happened, he ended up getting dowries for them from Italy instead.

@CursedsundariX @Geetashloks The Ottomans had a Navy that they sent to help a Muslim ruler on the West Coast and was notorious for slave capture in the Med. Arabs traded by sea with Indians for centuries. What is this slop?

What the fuck is wrong with "South" supremacists?? First of all "Muslim invasions" are not a unified event. Never relate the Arab/Türkic and Iranic incursions. Second, who the fyck spread the myth that "South" "resisted" "Muslims" longer than "North"??

@BmaAnirudh @ScionofAtreyas @up_lad45200 Sevunas also likely led the Maratha insurgents on the assault on the retreating Túghluq forces in 1322 C.E. And thereafter, Govindadevaraya supported Bahmanids against Muhammad bin-Tughluq in their revolt. And he then himself revolted against Bahmanids in 1370.

@ScionofAtreyas @up_lad45200 Nonsense. Kakatiyas fought them four times before the fifth and final campaign in 1323. They won two of these four. Even the civil war ridden Pandya Empire didn't fall until 1326. Seunas fought twice in 1296, 1308, and 1317 as Harapaladeva's rebellion. Hoysalas reconquered

@viprabuddhi @prathgodbole Zunbils worshipped a local form of Bhagwan Shiva. Most of Balochistan and Sindh were under the Hindu Brahman dynasty. Balkh & Badakhshan seem to have been the uppermost limits of proper Hindu influence as the Kabul chiefs had little control in the region.

Bactria was dominated by Sarvativada school of Buddhism back then, Sogdia was a mix of Buddhism (Sarvastivada/Mahayana), Zoroastrianism, Nestorian Christians + Manicheans Southern part of Afghanistan were inhabited by animist Zunbils, Hindus would have been majority only around Kabul. Places like Varnu (Bannu) and Jaguda (Ghazni) were all Buddhist hubs prior to Muslim arrival.

Kabul Shahi diplomacy with the Yaminis (Mahmud) was rather bizzarre. They backed a rebellion in Ghaznavi lands, got invaded as a consequence. Were let off with small indemnity, refused to pay it, got invaded a 2nd time and the king got taken prisoner.
Meenakshi Jain@IndicMeenakshi

Jaipal, last Hindu king of Kabul, taken prisoner while valiantly fighting Mahmud Ghaznavi. The Sultan ordered Jaipal be publicly paraded to shame him. He asked for 50 elephants to free him. Jaipal felt captivity made him unworthy of the throne, and threw himself into fire.

@scionofEla Chahamanas of Shakambhari alone were beating Ghanavid Turks black and blue numerous times. Numerous generals and Sultans were sent packing to their wastelands in Afghanistan. Hindu Rajputs were proving their mettle against Turks at a time when Europeans were being pushed aside.

12th century was a woefully underrated yet defining era for Rajput history marked by illustrious rulers who left an indelible mark on Indian heritage notching victories like Kasardaha and 1st Tarain, but also grappling with pivotal defeats like 2nd Tarain and Chandawar.

A mighty Rajput king of medieval age who is known to have defeated Chudasamas, Parmaras, Chauhans, Chandels, Western Chalukyas and Soomras of Sindh, Jayasimha was born to Karna I and the Kadamba princess Mayanalla Devi. He defeated and imprisoned the Parmara king of Malwa, and believed to have taken him to his capital in a wooden cage, following which Jayasimha adopted the title ‘Avantinatha’ or the Lord of Avanti. Consequently, he subdued Arnoraja Chauhan of Shakambhari. He married his daughter to Arnoraja, and therefore he was the maternal grandfather of Someshvara, the father of Prithviraja Chauhan. His conflict with Madanvarman Chandel is considered inconclusive, with both sides claiming victory. Moreover, the Dahod inscription states that Jayasimha defeated Sindhuraja, who was probably a Soomra king of Sindh. Jayasimha was in good terms with the Kalchuris and Gahadvalas. He was an ardent Shaivite, who showed tolerance to other sects and religions like Jainism. He patronized several scholars, and made Gujarat a noted centre of learning and literature. Jayasimha is a celebrated figure in Gujarat's history, often recognized for his bravery, justice, and devotion to cultural and structural development. It is a shame that most people today have not heard about this great king.

@Gnosisinformant Western domination was much more profound, influential, direct & long lasting. 1700s – 1930s is 2 centuries of complete military, technological and subsequently global domination. Mongols dominated parts of Eurasia from 1230s - 1330s at best. Maybe 4-5 decades more. Not supreme.

I don’t think people truly understand the apocalyptic dread people in the west felt about Mongols which lasted two centuries until they eventually gave rise to Turks and Tartars. The “West” has only truly been in control of the world since the fall of the Turks in 1683 (Vienna).
