@devsanddorks Maybe game concept is also a thing for getting attention too, I reached out to over 2000 content creators for CleanFall but only got a few coverages 🥹, but Idle Gumball Machine received millions of views after I reached out to the first 100 content creators. Both are great games

@IndiegameKim Yeah, there are a lot of tricks. I’ve noticed some games have to be shown through clips because screenshots don’t do the game justice. Then some other games do amazing with just screenshots because everyone looks like a work of art.

Isekai HKV【Steam Wishlist! 】
It's been a long time since I last posted about Isekai HKV. But I've actually still been slowly developing it~ I'm also very grateful that some Japanese people have been streaming and playing my game recently. The upcoming major version update will introduce a brand new mode. The gameplay will be similar to exploring and gathering resources in the morning, then returning to base at night to build turrets and defend against monster waves. However, all the construction work will be carried out by a large number of little companions! Players will defend the base together with these companions and summoned VTubers, then take on the final boss~

3 years ago I decided to become a full time indie game dev. My first 2 games failed hard, but my latest just passed 100 reviews! 🥳🥂 Here's my indie dev journey so far: 2023: My goal was to gain coding experience with a career in software dev and then make indie games, but I kept on making games when I should've been studying! 😬 Feeling conflicted, I asked my software engineer uncle if it was even a good plan in the first place and he said that it'd be WAAAY OVERKILL and I should just jump right in, so I did! 2024: My first game, Void Wizard, had just launched. It got good reviews, but it being only $2 was likely the main reason it was received so well. People said that it was too short and bland. It only grossed $1.3k in the first month, and I had to get a part-time job again. 2025: I was feeling defeated. Comet Rogue, my second game, only grossed $350 in the first month. This hurt bad. I thought it was a much better game, so it making so little felt terrible. A couple months later I was refreshing the page that shows the game's revenue and it suddenly jumped up by $800! Olexa had just played it 3 whole months after I contacted him! 🥳 The game continued to make me a couple hundred bucks a month. It's grossed $4.6k so far! Present Day: I just released Idle Gumball Machine, and it's grossed almost $14k! 🥳A lot of the game's success was probably due to it being in a "hot" genre, getting a publisher to help with promotion, and it being localized to Japanese and Chinese. Also, in my unbiased opinion, it's a really good game! The lesson? Don’t give up after the first flop. Your next game could be a success! 🔁 &❤️to support my journey and encourage more indie devs?
