Pleased to see Kosova’s Parliament ratify our membership in the @BoardOfPeace with 103 votes in favor, none against and no abstentions.
A strong and united message for Kosova’s role in contributing to international peace and stability.

Eliot Engel had long been memorialized in Kosova before the boulevard in the city of Peja came to bear his name, through his powerful voice in Congress, where he stood among the first and most resolute members to condemn Milosevic's genocidal campaign. He advocated for NATO intervention to stop Serbian genocide, supported Kosova’s declaration of independence, and warned about the malign influence of Russia in Europe. Personally, and on behalf of the country, we receive the news of his passing with deep sorrow, but also with enduring gratitude for his service. He will live forever in our hearts and minds, as an exemplar of what public service can achieve—the lives it can save and the democracy that can flourish when people stand up for what is right.

A historic night in Bratislava yesterday, as Kosova advances to the final of the World Cup Qualifier Playoffs. ⚽️
I thank the Slovak authorities for the excellent hospitality and the high level of security ensured throughout the match. We deeply appreciate the professionalism and care shown to our delegation and supporters.
Sport brings us together, and yesterday was a great example of that.

Today marks 27 years since the launch of Operation Allied Force, when @NATO acted to stop the ethnic cleansing carried out by Milošević’s genocidal regime in Kosova.
It was also a defining moment of recognition: the efforts of the KLA and the people of Kosova were affirmed internationally as a just struggle to defend freedom, life, human rights, and democracy.
Almost three decades after, as Kosova continues to advance toward its rightful place in NATO and towards contributing to the security of the Euro-Atlantic community, we remember this day with deep gratitude to our allies.
The partnership between Kosova and NATO is built on shared values and continues to guide our path forward.

Proud to see Luana Bajrami-Rahmani and the team behind “Two People Exchanging Saliva” win the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film.
Born in Kosova and rising from acclaimed roles in European cinema to directing her own films, Luana has built a remarkable career between Kosova, France and the international film stage.
Her success reflects the creativity and ambition of our youth, and the extraordinary contributions that our diaspora continues to bring to the world.

I strongly condemn the Iranian regime’s attacks against U.S. military bases and our partner countries in the Middle East. Today’s strikes on civilian areas in Jerusalem, which killed at least 9 people, as well as the indiscriminate attacks targeting commercial and residential areas in the United Arab Emirates, demonstrate a reckless disregard for innocent lives and regional stability.
Kosova stands firmly with our American allies and our partners in the region against actions that threaten peace, security, and international stability.

Kosova stands with the United States in efforts to deter regimes that threaten international peace and security. For decades the Iranian regime has oppressed its own people, destabilized the region, and supported actions that undermine global stability.
We stand in solidarity with the Iranian people and their legitimate aspirations for freedom, dignity, and democracy, and against the policies and actions of the regime that deny them these fundamental rights. Lasting stability requires accountability, respect for human rights, adherence to international law, and the protection of fundamental freedoms.
