Grateful to the many who checked in on me after today’s tragic events. I’m ok but I know many who are not. My condolences and thoughts are with those dead and injured. At times like this it is community care that is the best answer to violence. Check in with your loved ones

A number of people have been killed and multiple others are injured after a driver drove into a crowd at a street festival at E. 41st Avenue and Fraser shortly after 8 p.m. tonight. The driver is in custody. We will provide more information as the investigation unfolds.

This is what my family went through. So many of my aunts lived this moment. Hearing it recounted brings back lots of sadness. This was the largest layoff of women of color in B.C. history. This is what is at risk for our healthcare workers.
