On April 28, an assassination attempt took place at a military garrison located in the settlement of Knyaze-Volkonskoye-1 in Khabarovsk Krai, targeting Russian war criminal Major General Azatbek #Omurbekov, who in 2022 commanded the 64th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade and issued orders to Russian perpetrators in occupied Bucha.
An explosive device detonated in a mailbox on a stairwell landing of a residential building. As a result, the commander of a training communications battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Kuzmenko, was killed, and several others were wounded.
The current status of Omurbekov remains unknown, and the incident is being concealed.
In April 2022, InformNapalm identified Omurbekov; he was subsequently added to sanctions lists by many countries worldwide. Vladimir #Putin awarded him the title of Hero of #Russia for brutality and mass killings of Ukrainians.
Omurbekov is also featured in a deck of cards depicting war criminals who are subject to punishment.
