(New York Times)

That's indicative of holyrood waste. They still think our electoral process was designed to form friendships and knock cocks. It's churlish. The design was to create argument, debate and reach conclusions which benefit the electorate. It only benefits them. The rest of us just pay for it.

As there's no practical method to change a candidate's designation on the ballot paper to "Independent" at this stage, East Kilbride voters will be misled on 7th May, thinking they are voting for @ReformUKScot but getting a lone wolf, if he is elected. This displays most of @DrTimothyKelly's letter below, a tad hypocritical?
Dr Tim Kelly@DrTimothyKelly

I've resigned from Reform UK and will continue my campaign in East Kilbride as an Independent. My full letter to Lord @Malcolm_Offord👇 "How can I ask voters to trust my judgement while standing inside a party that will not trust theirs?"

@rgsneddon @ReformUKScot We have voted Tory most of our lives but ultimately realised through their actions and indeed inaction they are far to pally with the SNP and Greens .

I'm still undecided. I abhorrent tactical voting and truly believe thay is everyone voted for thier preferred candidate, who they think would benefit them most, we'd have a broad government, who have to come to agreements. I'm most likely, still tory but reserve the right to change my mind.

Tim most likely has valid point to his reasons. x.com/i/status/20440… Farage is an opportunist who will micromanage from the top down. That said, there is a set in stone format for electoral campaigning, by most parties... 🤷🏻‍♂️ the process of that is to get the candidate into the job. Once in the job, that's the place to wrestle your own ideas. Because that's where your ideas can make a change to peoples lives.
Russell Sneddon@rgsneddon

No . As a photographer running my own news agency, I was once the only person locked in a pub on the royal mile in Edinburgh, with @Nigel_Farage, as left wing extremists battered on the windows. Although he evidently feared for his safety, as Police stood guard at the entrances and exits, he gave an air of unbalance. I viewed him as a person who will quickly turn his viewpoint to pander to a majority opinion. At the time I was an active member of @scottishgreens but I was there on professional purpose, to get pics (selection below) I was permitted to stay because I hadn't finished my lunch, which I bought before he arrived. Canon's Gait did a great Steak Pie. 👍🏻

I was a firearms officer too Andy (for over 20 years), and I'm glad to say I never had to disarm an active terrorist who had just stabbed members of the public. My training was simple (and probably very similar to yours): if a suspect was not complying with commands to disarm and drop a knife, and I had formed an honest held belief that there was an imminent threat to life, the suspect would be shot until the imminent threat to life was no more. Not Tasered. Not kicked in the head. Shot. Aiming at the centre body mass. In all probability, lethal force being used. These officers were exceeding brave. If that suspect could have got back up off the floor, still armed with the knife, he could have killed and / or seriously injured many more people in a frenzied attack - including the officers - in a very short space of time. These unarmed officers could not take that risk. Using the NDM, it is clear to all sensible and knowledgeable people that the use of force utilised in these circumstances - including the kicks to the head - was fully justified. These officers are heroes, and deserve our full admiration and praise.
Andy George@andygeorgeni

@sarahknapton @JackJDees I have been a police officer for nearly 27 years, was on OFC in ARVs for 10 years and worked on the national taser course in 2022. I don't ever remember being trained to kick someone in the head, although any use of force can be justified in certain circumstances

SIX PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS tackle a KNIFEMAN >They ALL DIED; Many of us Retired Officers have tackled those Armed with a Knife & KNOW the ‘Trauma’ when it penetrates deep into our bodies; When the critics of 2 MET Officers have faced such I’ll listen; until then Foxtrot Oscar👇🤷‍♂️
Sherlock Comms@sherlock_comms

6 pro fighters vs one knifeman. They all 'die'. Anyone commenting on the kicks by the police during the Golders Green terrorist attack, who simply won't believe the police, should at least watch this. Your ideas of safely disarming are just fantasy. youtu.be/t69XMB-PINM?si…

This has to stop Nuclear is the most energy dense form of electricity generation. It uses less land by far than any other source per unit of electricity generated Blocking it for spurious environmental reasons is moronic Time to get rid of these unelected bodies that have no proper accountability
Claire Coutinho@ClaireCoutinho

Natural England is out of control. Nuclear is the most land dense clean energy using up to 3000 times LESS land than solar and wind. Nuclear is much better for habitats and the environment and yet our environment regs are blocking our ability to build it. Madness.

On This Day, May 2, 2004: Palestinian terrorists ambushed a car near Kissufim in Gaza & murdered Tali Hatuel — a 34-year-old Jewish pregnant social worker — and her four young daughters: Hila (11), Hadar (9), Roni (7), and Meirav (2). Tali was eight months pregnant with her first son. The terrorists shot at her car, forcing it off the road. After the initial gunfire, they ran up and executed the mother and her four little girls at point-blank range, emptying their magazines to make sure they were dead. This wasn’t “resistance.” It was the deliberate massacre of a pregnant woman and her children — pure evil designed to maximize Jewish suffering. This is what was happening in Gaza. The following year, in 2005, Israel completely withdrew from Gaza — uprooting 21 Jewish communities, removing every last settler and soldier, dismantling homes, and even digging up Jewish graves to move them. It was one of the most painful and controversial decisions in Israel’s history. Israel gave the Palestinians full control of the territory in the hope they would finally choose peace and build a state. Instead, the Palestinians elected Hamas. Then Hamas staged a bloody coup, expelled Fatah from Gaza, and ruled the Strip with an iron fist ever since. Almost immediately after the withdrawal, the terrorists began firing rockets at Israeli civilians. They never stopped — thousands upon thousands of rockets over the next 18 years, interrupted only by temporary “ceasefires” that Hamas routinely broke — right up until October 7, 2023. So yea, it certainly didn't start on October 7.

Douglas Murray: "Imagine what kind of a psychopath you have to be to gang rape a girl and then shoot her in the head. Most won't be proud of that, but Hamas is." The vast majority of Gazans celebrated this.
