Sadden to read that the legendary and pioneering Spanish naturalist "Suso" Garzón passed away. I was incredibly lucky to follow him during seasonal sheep migration for a couple of days when I was 5. Suso himself took this picture of me!

@NickdeVrij @hashemkoohy Regarding confounders: we explored these a bit in Supplementary figure 3 (age, tumor purity and necrosis) of the peer-reviewed paper. Yet, it definitely requires more experiments to address how much "confounding" noise can the neural network handle genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

@hashemkoohy Yeah it's definitely not the model problem, but I'd wished they would assess their data confounders in the discussion so their trained model would be better applied! But yeah I do agree on the way of thinking!

During the interview, a question was asked that felt out of context - about potential maternity leave and its impact on my proposed project. At the time of the interview I was in week 31 of my current pregnancy and therefore visibly pregnant.
