As a survivor of kidnapping and banditry, I can tell you that these criminals believe that no matter how much they take from you, you will eventually work and earn it back after your release. Let me use myself as an example. After my family paid the ₦15 million ransom they demanded, along with other items worth over ₦600,000, they still weren't satisfied. They continued demanding more money and eventually asked for ₦55 million. They even told my mother to sell her house and car to raise the money. Because my family rented a vehicle to deliver the ransom and other requested items, the kidnappers assumed we owned the car and were wealthy. They kept insisting that we sell all our properties and hand over the proceeds to them. Omo, it was a terrible ordeal. The fear, pressure, and emotional torture were overwhelming. Watching my family struggle to meet their endless demands was heartbreaking. One painful reality is that they often target ordinary and struggling people like us because we are easier to capture than the elites, who usually have better security and protection. This is why we cannot continue to stay silent. Kidnapping and banditry have destroyed countless lives, families, and dreams across Nigeria. We need to raise our voices, stand together as a nation, and demand urgent action against insecurity. Today it may be someone else's family. Tomorrow it could be yours. Enough is enough. 💔🇳🇬🙏🏽

I am a British, Nigerian yes but I’ve always cared about Nigeria and anybody that has followed my career can vouch for that. The narrative they subtly want to frame is that HE @PeterObi is merely another piece on a political chessboard. Don’t fall for it . That assumption is precisely why so many analysts continue to fundamentally misunderstand the DNA of what is happening in Nigeria today…or they do get it, but want to sell you some snake oil. Let me explain. This Bloomberg framing treats politics as if it is still business as usual. They think Nigerian voters are merely spectators waiting for governors, godfathers, and party chairmen to decide their future for them. They see “opposition unity” as a boardroom deal rather than a reflection of grassroots desire. That model is not just flawed; it has become obsolete. The first flaw in the whole argument is this: it assumes HE Peter Obi created opposition fragmentation. He didn’t. The fragmentation already existed because the old political order was already broken. Millions of Nigerians had psychologically exited that system long before 2023. The rise of the Obidient Movement was the ultimate symptom of it. You cannot “split” something that was already shattered by decades of failure. Second, the argument assumes that opposition unity is automatically valuable regardless of what that unity produces. It is not. Nigerians are demanding competence. They are demanding integrity. They are demanding a Nigeria that works for everyone, and not just some. A coalition is only meaningful if it presents a credible, alternative to the status quo. If it is about grabbing power for its own sake then it isn’t an alternative; it is a rebrand. That is its greatest weakness. The Obidient Movements, now the core of the OK Movement along with the Kwankwasiyaa, was never about electoral calculations. It was about millions of Nigerians deciding that the old excuses & old failures are no longer acceptable. That sentiment has only deepened under worsening economic hardship, declining purchasing power, & the daily struggle to survive since the APC unleashed hopelessness on the land . The real objective of articles like this is to get you focused on political permutations rather than performance & service delivery . They want you arguing about coalition mathematics instead of governance outcomes. They want you debating personalities instead of accountability. Don’t fall for it. The real question before Nigerians is this: Has the APC government improved your life? Are you safer today? Are you more prosperous? Is food more affordable? Are your children’s futures more secure? Those are the only questions that matter. Those are the questions the ruling party must answer, and they are the questions every Nigerian should keep asking between now & election day. The focus of this election cycle must remain exactly where it belongs: on the record of those in power. We are in a perilous times in Nigeria. In Nigeria now criminal gangs have more sophisticated weapons than our security agencies. These weapons from every indication are not being produced in Nigeria. They are probably being brought into this country with active connivance and calloborations with those who have duties and responsibilities to protect us. Life no longer make meaning in the hands of these hoodlums. There are many killings in Nigeria that government has been unable to bring the killers to book These killers operate in broad day light.Just see how late Mr Ahmed Gulak was killed in Imo State about four years ago. Just see also how former Army spokeman was kidnapped in broadlight on Katsina Road. A reired General just captured like that in broaday light. I weep for us Nigeria. See the experiences of Nigerians in the hands of Kidnappers and the ransome being collected and paid. We are in a state of nature. We have become hostages in our own country. Our security is just in the hands of God who is the best security officer of all. The people are under torment.The trauma of the people are just to hard to describe. Once peaceful nation where we travelled like tourists at anytime has become nightmare to dare do so by roads now. See our school children in the hands of kidnappers in the forest. Our once peaceful forests for cocoa and rubber plantations have become den of hoodlums and bandits and Banditry. All of these have their root causes and genesis in corruption and injustice. It is also a function of failure of government and governance over the years.Those who contributed to the state we are today are very much alive and very powerful at the corridors of power all over the places. Nigeria has been held by the jugular and it is really in a state of helplessness. The agitations for balkanisation of Nigeria into various Republics with respect are not being undertaken for genuine and patriotic cause. No it is not. Most Nigerians see power as means of accumulating primitive wealth. In this country today those who have money have more respect and honour than those who have honesty and integrity as their wealth. Honesty is no more the best policy. How did we get here. We have generation of moral decadent parading and lording over us as rulers and nothing happens to them. Indeed these generation of moral decadent are law unto themselves. Clearly the absence of sanctions and consequences for deviant behaviour has produced the rotten situations we found ourselves today. I think Nigerians need to wake up to save themselves from the precautions situations we found ourselves in. Government doesn't seems to have answers to the challenges we have. I call on President of Nigeria to wake up. His campaign promises which earned him respect and support of some Nigerians that brought him to power must be used to salvage the current perilous and precautions situations we are in. The security apparatus of the state must be deployed with maximum force to restore law and order. The president must do everything to assuage the feelings of all that they have a stake in Nigeria project. Every perceived lopsided appointments must be looked into and remedied.Those in positions who are sabotaging the system must be dealt with. The situations where people think they are sacred Cows and above the law must not continued to be the case. Nigerians want results not condolence messages. Nigerians want actions not promises. Nigerians want development not promises to develop. Nigerians want action not English. Nigerians are tired of hearing we are on top of the situations. We want to see government on top of the situations.. We want to see the situations of bandits, hoodlums, Kidnapping, killing and unemployment completely brought to an end. It can be done if justice is done to all concerned. We want good governance and not governmental statistics of we are doing well. We want to see visible changes in governance.
