@SynthPotato What I always find interesting is that films are shot at something like 24fps, but movies always look smooth.

Seriously though why does this happen? Did something in screens change or did we just get too used to 60FPS+ that 30fps looks so laggy now?

Ever wonder why our roads are so poor? These cars now weigh up to three times that of an average sixties saloon and five times that of the little Lotus Elan in the picture

@The_mHudson The Good Old Games initiative is something I deeply admire, and it's very clever. Game preservation is a matter of aesthetics and I would say a minor moral issue as well -- great works should be carried to the next generation.

GOG is quietly the best competition Steam has and it doesn't get enough discussion. It's at least as easy and convenient, competitively priced, has stabler versions of a lot of older titles, and while the catalog is smaller it has a LOT of great classics that Steam doesn't have.

Why do they feel the need to crop old movies to fit modern screens? They cut off part of the picture because they think we're so stupid that we'll think there's something wrong if there are black bars on the sides.

I just ordered a German Blu-Ray of Big Trouble in Little China (it has an English track) because the American Blu-Ray is $55 fucking dollars. Why? Why does this keep happening? Why is it becoming increasingly difficult to find American copies of American movies?
