It’s funny because Andor still had a bunch of franchise callbacks in it, like Yularen and the Cantwell Star Destroyer design, but they were just done with actual taste and world building so no one cared

This first episode Andor scene doesn’t get talked about enough, because in addition to the sexual tension there’s SO much great character work and plot exposition packed in. You have to pay attention. It’s also extremely well directed. Result: great rewatchability.

Even small side characters are emotionally engaging, so thats a mark of great storytelling.
