Concerning the Statements Made Against Me by Mr Omoyele Sowore, Through His Lawyer in Court With regard to the claims made by Mr Omoyele Sowore and his counsel, Mr Abubakar Marshal, in court on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, I do freely admit that I did make uncomplimentary remarks about the then Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, while believing those comments to be true at the time I uttered them. Subsequent to making those statements, I discovered that they were not, in fact, true, and I publicly withdrew them in writing and on video at various times and through multiple platforms. On the day that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was sworn in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which was Monday, May 29, 2023, I released a statement affirming him as President of Nigeria and urging members of the public to put the past behind them and give him their full support. I repeated this stance and public call on Thursday, October 26, 2023, the day the Supreme Court of Nigeria ruled in favour of the President, after dismissing the petitions against him brought by Alhaji Waziri Atiku Abubakar, and Mr Peter Obi, amongst others. In that judgment, the honourable court declared that there were no criminal charges or convictions against the President. It clarified what had happened in the past, which had been misrepresented by some media. On the same day the judgement was rendered, I accepted it, applauded it, and stated that, based on that verdict, my stance on the statements I had made against the President had changed: not only was it wrong, but I fully believed it was fallacious. Two days thereafter, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, I gave an interview to TVC, in which I affirmed the Supreme Court's judgement and declared it a righteous verdict and that their Lord Justices did a good job and followed the letter and spirit of the law. When members of the Peoples Democratic Party, to which I was then aligned, continued to dwell on those unfounded allegations, I arranged to be interviewed on Newscentral Television on Thursday, March 27, 2025, where I said that the President had been "exonerated", a word that I used intentionally, as I have a Master’s in Law from the United Kingdom, and understood and wanted to project and confirm to the Nigerian public that a constitutionally recognised official body had absolved the President of any wrongdoing, which is the legal meaning of that word. Following this, I went on the most watched talk show in Nigeria, Politics Today, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, where I admitted to the Nigerian public and the world at large during a live broadcast that I was wrong about those statements I made about the then candidate, and that I relied on false publications in the media in making them, and that having gotten accurate judicial pronouncements that exonerated the President and established beyond any reasonable doubt that the information I had erroneously believed, chiefly from Mr Omoyele Sowore's platform, Saharareporters, and from the mouth of Mr Sowore himself, was false, I withdrew those statements and apologised for them. Prior to that, I had sought a private audience with the President himself on October 1, 2024, where I flew into Nigeria from my home in California, and apologised to him in person, prostrating flat on the ground, before stating that I was misled by publications in the media into making those statements, and that my actions were not malicious, but that I was then labouring under a mistaken belief that what I had read in the media was true, when in fact it was wrong.

Today, a buyer came with his mechanic to inspect a car I personally imported. The car was very clean, no issues. After checking everything, the mechanic pulled me aside and said before he could give his final approval to the buyer, I should give him 400k. I was surprised, While he was still talking, another buyer who inspected the car yesterday sent full payment and confirmed pickup. When I refused his request, the mechanic turned around and started telling his buyer that the car had issues. Unknown to him, the conversation was recorded. I played it for the buyer and then informed them the car had already been sold.

In a country drowning in poverty like Nigeria, it is deeply painful to watch ₦700 million handed to footballers who are already millionaires. That same money could lift thousands of children off the streets of Kano, restore their dignity, and give them a real chance at life. Our priorities are completely misplaced.

Don’t let them gaslight you. His messiah has aligned with those he called the “structure of criminality”. They are now political allies with people they called mass murderers. This saint said nothing. He just quietly fell in line whilst hoping that they will be led to power by the same people they claimed carried out genocides. They worshipped Wike once, thinking he was going to adopt their messiah. Wike broke their hearts and spat on their faces. Democracy to this lot is for you to unplug your brain and just do what they want you to do. They are the modern day Animal Farm. Democracy is great if they win, everyone is evil if they lose. Nigeria is blessed knowing that this fascist lot will never be the majority. If you think there are any ideals worthy of emulating in this wannabe dictators, then you have no idea what power does to people who call you evil just because you vote differently from them.

@Innowonda @OlaniyanSon @renoomokri At what speed was he driving at? Were there deterrents on the road to ensure drivers do not over speed. What is the punishment for overspeeding in Nigeria. How many people know the speed limits of different roads and vehicles?

Anthony Joshua: Even the Parked Trailer Is As Innocent As Nigeria In the case of the Anthony Joshua accident, I can understand the outrage of some members of the public, who are seeking a culprit to blame and feel they have found one in the parked trailer. However, if you go back and study the video and photographs from the crash scene, you would note that the trailer was parked on the hard shoulder, which is permitted under highway regulations both in Nigeria and abroad. A hard shoulder is a part of a highway or expressway, separated by a solid white or yellow line or other markings. It is intended for use as an emergency stop for vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or by emergency services. In their rush to find some way to blame Nigeria, some unpatriotic citizens are trying to blame the authorities for the parked trailer, which was the vehicle that Mr Joshua's car rammed into. But much as I regret the accident, the trailer was not the cause of the crash. A hard shoulder is not a lane, and it is not meant to be used for driving or overtaking vehicles ahead of you. There are warning signs on Nigerian highways reminding drivers not to use the hard shoulder. The cause of the accident, as the Police and FRSC posited, is overspeeding and reckless overtaking. That said, hard shoulders are not long-term parking areas, and vehicles should not be left there for extended periods. What some Nigerians do not understand is that the Federal Road Safety Commission routinely tows away cars parked on the hard shoulder of expressways for long periods. However, it is not so easy when it is a heavy-duty vehicle like a trailer. This is not just peculiar to Nigeria. Many countries have issues removing parked trailers from the side of freeways. It is expensive and requires specialised equipment. More often than not, the practice is to cite and fine the owners of such vehicles. But even then, the trailer itself would not have triggered the accident if Nigerian and international traffic rules had been obeyed. Reno Omokri

There’s always been a group of people, Nigerians nonetheless, who hated Anthony Joshua for his love of Nigeria. They have treated this tragic event like a World Cup winning moment. All for what? Their own love of Nigeria. There is one contradiction here but it is not AJ’s love of Nigeria.

For the third year in a row, President Tinubu gives Nigerians a December to remember! Today is exactly ten days to Christmas, and unlike before 2023, there is no fuel scarcity in any part of Nigeria. Throughout the length and breadth of this nation of 235 million people, fuel is plentiful, and at a cost of under ₦900, it is also affordable. Again, for the third December under President Tinubu, there is no fuel scarcity in Nigeria, and the price of petrol has reduced. This has never occurred under any previous administration. When it occurred for the second time last year, and I wrote about it exactly a year ago, some people criticised me, saying these were basic things. I quite agree. But oxygen is also a basic thing. That something is rudimentary does not mean it cannot be celebratory. Because we, as a people, have incredibly short memories, let me remind Nigerians of what used to happen around this time in previous years. Our people would be in queues at fuel stations, many of them sleeping overnight. Others would be there with Jerry cans. And then the media would report on stories of people's homes being burnt because of petrol stirred in such containers. Others who were not stormy enough to wait in line at fuel stations would buy black-market gasoline, and inevitably, there would be news bulletins about blown or knocked-out engines and exploding generators. Well, all that is in the past. Or, am I lying? Let us not underestimate the big difference small improvements make! If the availability of petrol and the reduction in its price were not such an important issue, why did these same people who pilloried me when I highlighted the issue also complain under previous governments when there was both petrol scarcity and a price hike in fuel in previous Decembers? As a people, let us learn to appreciate progress. We should not wait until Nigeria builds a rocket that lands on the moon before we pat our country on the back. If we complain when things go badly, then we should also commend when they operate well or even better than we expected. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as I drive into a petrol station in Abuja to buy fuel at a discounted price, I commend you for your policies that have turned Nigeria from the biggest fuel importer in Africa to the largest exporter of the same product in West Africa. Well done, Your Excellency! And for those who will lampoon me for praising the President for this achievement, please, first of all, conduct an AI search of your digital footprint. If in previous Decembers you ever posted a comment attacking the government for petrol scarcity and the unaffordability of the product, then search yourself and ask if you genuinely have the moral authority to censure me!
