@Inquisiition @waymac_x Understanding market context and knowing when to be in and when to be out is key. Otherwise you can have the best strategy, but if market context is shit, it won’t work.

Fun fact: Most traders who hesitate, over-backtested themselves into doubt. Over-backtesting doesn’t build confidence. It builds hesitation!

@DayBTrades @waymac_x That’s the thing. There is no perfect strategy. You can gain a lot of edge by something simple. The hard part is to keep the consistency and don’t swap anything. It will just manipulate your metrics.

@waymac_x Backtesting isn’t the problem. Backtesting 47 different configurations looking for a perfect system is. Pick one. Trust it. Trade it.

Well you have to think about in terms of edge. There really aren’t that many setups that happen in the day that are worth taking. If I hit BE that means that price went 1.5 R + and then turned around. So my entires are good but price isn’t running for me, so every BE affects your edge. I would assume that the next trade is more likely a loss.

@TradersConf plus 1:3RR won't work in funded accounts , because the drawdown will be too much

Why do people trade 1:3RR? If you place a random 1:1 trade it has a 50% chance of being successful. Add a bit of edge and even if you can get to 60-65% win-rate and have a decent trade frequency you can make a lot of money trading. Not sure why more people don’t do this it’s so simple.

Traders are starting to become profitable way faster then when I started trading. It's not uncommon for a beginner to find profitability in a few months, where it used to take years in 2020. The information beginners get exposed to is much more valuable than it was back then.
