I'm honestly sick of the AI debate, it's really simple guys: Yes, AI is a tool. But it is one with abilities that the word "tool" itself is underserving. AI is only getting more capable of producing high caliber compositions. That said, it doesn't matter how good the output is if the person prompting it has no taste, no eye, and no understanding of *why* something works. The same was true of Photoshop. The same was true of 3D rendering. The same was true of every tool that scared artists when it first showed up. The difference between slop and art has never been the tool--it's the fucking intent and the understanding behind it. Stop arguing about whether AI is "real art" and start asking whether the person using it actually knows what they're doing. Start asking if that person can do the task they're prompting themselves without shiny fancy tools first. That's always been the only question that mattered.

Ngl the marketing of AI has to be studied. It will replace you. Its inevitable. You'll rent compute from us. You'll own nothing and be happy. "Why is everyone so mad" Like I don't even hate AI but its fascinating to see CEOs punch themselves in the dick for sport.

Never discount the meaning and worth of letting someone know they are genuinely heard, and that they are of value.

so far had close to ZERO conversations with folks that are anti AI. The convo usually starts with someone attacking, I reply explaining my point of view, then either no responce, or more attacks, or I get blocked (hi Kenney : )

While I love to have my cake and eat it too. I'd take thicc ass can't hear you over the sound of your gameplay over a decent story any day. Quality narratives peaked with Lord of the Rings so no game is going to change my life like that.

The biggest issue facing Modern Gaming is the absolutely unhinged, sociopathic corporate leadership who see video games not as entertainment or a form of art, but as a guaranteed ROI. They will destroy thousands of careers if their work doesn't generate maximum revenue.
