On Friday the @hersheyfire assisted the @palmyrafire Department with a working structure fire in a duplex style home. Crews worked well and fast containing the fire to two rooms with slight extension into the attic.
All residents are safe. No injuries to firefighters.

Did you know that from 1933 to 1980, the public library was on the main floor in the west wing of the Community Building on 14 E. Chocolate Avenue? 📚Reference books and card catalogs. The library looked to be very elegant! Parquet floor and hushed tones.

Hershey Park Golf Course (later known as the Parkview Course) was built in 1929 and opened in 1930. Founded by Milton Hershey, it was designed as a public course. It was located near the swimming pool complex before later becoming part of the Hershey Country Club. #hersheyhistory

Mortar training Apr 8 to 13, 8 am to 11 pm
Gunnery training Apr 13-17, 9 am to 1 am
The Homestead, originally constructed in 1826, became the Hershey Industrial School (H.I.S.) for boys in 1910. By 1914–the number of boys increased from ten to forty, and the "sign" under the second story banister now says "The Hershey Industrial School". #hersheyhistory
