@fiona_webster22 Serious question: How are the cartoonists being compensated? I'd like to use this thread as a recommended #MediaLiteracy education resource, but not if the artists who generated the content haven't given permission and/or been paid for their work.

@nhannahjones #MediaLiteracy educators have a term for it: "agenda setting." And having language for it enables students to spot it. Please support media literacy educators in your community / school district.

As media, we consistently proclaim that we are just reporting the news when in fact we are driving it. What we cover, how we cover it, determines often what Americans thinks is important and *how* they perceive these issues yet we keep pretending it is not so. If Americans don’t recognize the crisis our democracy is facing, that’s not their fault, it is ours.
