Ms. Boyd’s small flexible math group is an excellent example of how kinesthetic and interactive learning beats a worksheet every time! Roslyn Road Elementary has been working on improving small group instruction to better meet student learning needs. @barrington220

Fourth grade teachers at Countryside create math learning tasks that truly require student collaboration and reflection. Through thoughtful design and questioning, students were in it to win it, and truly having fun while learning. @barrington220

Lines Elementary DL kindergarten had it going on yesterday during math rotations, proving once again kindergarteners are very capable of engaging in higher level math discourse independently! 🔥🔥@barrington220

Loved spending time in one of our extended math classrooms at Barrington Middle School-Prairie Campus. The musical birthday serenade was a nice surprise. Mr. Buesing is such an engaging extended math teacher. @barrington220

I am excited to share that last night I was approved at the CCSD93 Board of Education meeting as the next Principal of Elsie Johnson Elementary School. I am honored to have been chosen to lead such a strong school community. @CCSD93

Ms. Sitzberger’s students at Rose were quoted impressive while working in their interactive math groups using pattern blocks to make complex fractions tangible. Ms. Wang’s CI students worked to solve multi step word problems! Such a great Vision Cycle walk. @barrington220

Mrs. Vakayil’s third graders at Rose were on 🔥while engaged in high level student discourse making claims about fractions and defending those claims to their peers. Mrs. Vakayil did an amazing job asking high level open ended questions to push student thinking. @barrington220

North Barrington had their second Vision Cycle walk. It was amazing to see all the instructional shifts. I was blown away by all the student centered, authentic, engaging learning tasks from kinder all the way to fifth grade! Student agency was front and center. @barrington220
