The mistake from everyone involved is assuming he is a forward because of that first season. He’s an attacking midfielder who had a hot scoring and penalty streak. The one thing that remained constant between Poch transition ball and Maresca positional play: HIS CREATIVE OUTPUT

I think this really gets to the heart of Chelsea’s problems. There’s simply a lack of connection between fans, players and then the wider club. Poch started fixing that, Maresca picked it up to an extent but it is back to square one after this season.
