It was an honest and insightful chat with @adrianlai2022. That's why I like @InvsbleFriends community, where this conversation can happen. I blame the bad actors in web3/ NFT spaces for this scepticism. And the complexities of web3 dynamics are often reduced to binary opposition or a zero-sum game. We all own multiple identities in web3 & irl. It's vital to bridge the knowledge gap between different parties in web3 and demystify the misunderstandings. Thanks, Adrian again for hosting us as not only the Founder of @Newmancapitalvc - but also (more importantly to me 😉) as an authentic & passionate NFT lover & collector. For the progression of web3, we need to do this - all together.

Yesterday we hosted @InvisibleHK meetup at the @Newmancapitalvc office. Frankly speaking, it's not the usual type of events that we hosted, as in a NFT community-focused event. I was talking to the @paperworker (the host), he mentioned the NFT holders were initially highly skeptical of a #VC hosting the event. The skepticism was exactly why I was keen to host the event. While Hong Kong is pushing web3, we can't forget the core essence of web3 is the community. The notion of investors only maximising their gains without interacting with the community, in this case NFT holders, reflects Hong Kong is still mostly considered as capital raising hub for web3. In order for Hong Kong to really become a global web3 hub, we need more events like this. Going forward, Newman will support community events as much as we can! @InvsbleFriends
