"Innovation is a good thing when it happens responsibly." Iowa community banker Abram Tubbs spells out the risk to lending and the local economy if Congress doesn't close the stablecoin interest loophole. Read his @CBJournal op-ed: aba.social/4uxSCP1

President Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” is a major win for our community banks. It includes provisions from my bill — the #ACRE Act — to help community banks offer loans to farmers and ag businesses at lower rates. We’re investing in Rural America and Iowa agriculture!

“This rule harms banks, harms small businesses and harms families.” Thanks to @RepFeenstra for explaining how @CFPB’s Section 1071 rule will impact communities across rural America and for helping lead the fight in Congress to roll it back.
Rep. Randy Feenstra@RepFeenstra

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Section 1071 rule would increase the cost of loans, inundate businesses with mountains of paperwork, and constrict economic growth. This burdensome rule is a disaster for affordable lending in rural #IA04, and it must be stopped.

President Biden has approved federal disaster aid for 4 counties, including Adair County (where Greenfield is located), for Tuesday’s storm damage. Gov. Reynolds made the request yesterday.

As always, it was great to have @iowabankers in my office. We had the opportunity to discuss my ACRE Act, which would give our community banks and main street lenders much-needed flexibility to offer agricultural and home loans at affordable rates for #IA04 families and farmers.

New - @MorningConsult survey conducted on behalf of ABA finds 9 in 10 Americans with a bank account say they are “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with their primary bank, and 96% rate their bank’s customer service as “excellent,” “very good” or “good." aba.social/48ZZf0q

Credit unions’ privileged status as tax-exempt nonprofit organizations may have filled a market need during the Great Depression, but 90 years later, there is no longer a justification to subsidize these institutions. The latest from @scottahodge: hubs.ly/Q02j7R9K0
