One thing Penn State does that no one talks about is they don't get into crazy scrambles very often. It's all about clean finishing and like Lilledahl just did, bail out if you miss the finish. I see Iowas Bennet Stirtz made honorable mention… Good for him, glad he made a career out of himself from D2 —-> D1. Iowa fans should really cherish his last 1-2 games in an Iowa uniform… Iowa will NEVER get a player like him ever again, and their fans know it. He only came to Iowa and took a major pay cut because his life coach did. If BM goes anywhere else he follows. Iowa would be nothing more than a Maryland-Oregon level team in the B1G without him.

@smithedd16 How cool if all sports did this. I think Football is the only sport that we wouldn’t see success at the D1 level.

I know it doesn’t make sense with modern qualification standards, but it would be so cool to see the D2 & D3 champs get plugged into the D1 national tournament. Would make for some awesome storylines.

@smithedd16 Great point. Oldest boy is 5 right now and all I care about is fundamentals. I see a lot of wrestling from 8th grade on up and they’re still struggling getting takedowns, escaping, and finishing. As Gable says the best wrestlers are great at the basics.

I honestly couldn’t care less about my kids results until about 8th grade. Before then kids are bound to have huge technical blind spots because they just haven’t had enough time to become complete wrestlers. By 8th grade they should be starting to figure it out B4 the HS lvl.

@CFBTalkDaily He's unbelievable at seeing 2 and no star talent with tremendous high ceiling. He put together a rather ridiculous roster at Temple of players that were not highly recruited, and developed them into NFL talent. Some all pro and been in the league for a decade. Amazing leader.
