A Taiwanese news anchor accidentally stood on a map of China… then immediately jumped over to Taiwan. While saying: “Not in this life will I be Chinese.” That clip went viral in Taiwan. Not because it was controversial but because it resonated. The anchor, Wang Xian-yu, later clarified he respects Chinese people but rejects the CCP. That distinction matters. And the reaction tells you something deeper: For many in Taiwan, identity isn’t ambiguous anymore. #Taiwan #China #Identity #Geopolitics #CCP

WHY DOESN’T CHINA🇨🇳 DUMP US🇺🇸 TREASURY BILLS? Victor Gao: ‘China wants to make sure that the Chinese foreign currency reserve can be well-invested. And investing in the US treasury is one of the ways to deploy Chinese foreign currency reserves. China used to be the largest treasury bond holder. China consistently and continuously reduced its US treasury bond holding. And this is also a fact well-recorded. And in the future, I think China will continue to decrease its US treasury bonds. China also cares about the financial integrity of the global financial market as a whole. And for example, if the United States financial market tanks, it’s absolutely bad for the United States, that’s without a doubt. But, it’s also bad for the international economy, international financial integrity. So from the Chinese perspective being very philosophical for thousands of years, the Chinese mind is always being very philosophical. We want to do the right thing, even if doing the right thing means the opposite side will benefit. And we do not want to do the wrong thing, even if doing the wrong thing will make the hostile side suffer, if mankind will suffer more. So I think, you are talking about an equilibrium. And the Chinese equilibrium is always don’t do unto others what you do not want others do unto you.” —Victor Gao, President of the Center for China and Globalisation, on the latest episode of Going Underground Watch the full interview in the quoted post below👇

The US military's missiles, fighter jets, and submarines all depend on rare earth materials. China controls most of the global supply. The Pentagon just flew to Malaysia to fix that problem. Lynas Rare Earths, an Australian company operating the world's largest rare earth processing plant outside China, has begun commercial production of heavy rare earth elements, specifically dysprosium, terbium, and samarium, at its facility in Kuantan, Malaysia. In March 2026, the US Department of Defense signed a $96 million, four-year supply agreement with Lynas to secure both light and heavy rare earth oxides for defense manufacturing. Why does this matter? Dysprosium and terbium are essential components in the high-performance magnets inside F-35 fighter jets, Tomahawk missiles, Virginia-class submarines, and radar systems. Until Lynas began production in mid-2025, China had an effective monopoly over heavy rare earth processing globally. The CCP demonstrated exactly how dangerous that monopoly is. In April 2025, China imposed export licensing requirements on seven heavy rare earth elements. Chinese magnet exports immediately fell by roughly three-quarters. European prices surged to six times Chinese domestic levels. Defense manufacturers scrambled. Automotive assembly lines slowed. China later suspended some restrictions as part of diplomatic negotiations, but the core licensing framework remains active and the suspension expires in November 2026. This is not an accident or an overreaction. China controls around 70% of global rare earth production and over 90% of rare earth permanent magnet manufacturing. It has now proven, twice, that it is willing to weaponize that dominance when geopolitical pressure suits it. Lynas in Malaysia is a genuine breakthrough. It is also still a small piece of what is needed. The US is years away from a fully independent domestic supply chain. The CCP knows the gap. The suspension of export controls is temporary. And the materials that go into the weapons defending Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines are still overwhelmingly processed in the country that considers all three of them problems to be solved. #RareEarths #China #CCP #Pentagon #Lynas #Defense #CriticalMinerals #Geopolitics #NationalSecurity #IndoPacific

🇨🇳 China lacks farmland to grow food. Authorities even force peasants to move their ancestors' tombs to roadside to save farmland. (peasants can lose 100 social credit points for building new tombs) Yet Chinese government is building solar panels on prime farmland.
Songpinganq@songpinganq

@elonmusk Unfortunately solar panels are taking lots of prime farmland in China, which could result in China facing food crisis. Because China already lacks farmland to grow food, and China is already the top food importer in the world.

Must read Taiwan 👇👇👇 The only cards the DPP has left up its sleeve for the 2028 elections are : - electoral fraud, like in so many Western countries, who without a doubt will lend a hand to the DPP on how to proceed, - a staged assassination attempt : the DPP has a track record in this, with the 2004 reelection of its candidate Chen Shuibian, who was about to lose the elections until that fateful day, - a false flag attack on Taiwan to declare martial law, seize total power, ban the opposition and muzzle the media, just like Korean president Yoon attempted two years ago.
Laurent Michelon Officiel@LH_86_

In late 2025, #Taiwan authorities published their National Public Safety Guide, a.k.a. "the Orange Book", and distributed a copy to every household, to raise awareness of the citizens on how to strengthen their readiness in case of a conflict, presumably caused by #China. A local think tank then conducted a survey and found out that it did not strengthen citizens’ perceived ability to protect themselves or reunite with their families. To bridge this gap between knowledge and action, the think tank advised that "the government should mandate hands-on drills in communities and schools and deploy familiar tools such as Google Offline Maps to turn preparedness into practical, instinctive behavior". Fear-mongering tactics like these have reached unprecedented levels since the secessionist party, the DPP, is in power. In 2025, it added a civilian dimension to the annual Han Kuang military drills, by having special forces scurrying around the metro stations of Taipei in search of an imaginary invader, while citizens were asked to hide at home and watch them on TV. French people are familiar with these government scare tactics : in 2025, Macron's government thought it was a good idea to ask every French household to prepare a "bug-out bag" with emergency supplies in case the Russian army suddenly rolls down in the streets of Paris again. The DPP, the secessionist party in power in Taipei, is trying its best to drive a wedge between mainland China and the island of Taiwan by beating the war drum and making the Taiwanese population nervous, insecure and hopefully increase the anti-China sentiment. Fortunately, the bond between Taiwanese and their mainland compatriots is strong, the people on both sides are well educated, and their sense of Chinese-ness, although different on both sides, is stronger than the weak attempts, on Taiwan's side, to build a fictitious "Taiwanese identity" made of ethnic, historical and political scraps. The only cards the DPP has left up its sleeve for the 2028 elections are : - electoral fraud, like in so many Western countries, who without a doubt will lend a hand to the DPP on how to proceed, - a staged assassination attempt : the DPP has a track record in this, with the 2004 reelection of its candidate Chen Shuibian, who was about to lose the elections until that fateful day, - a false flag attack on Taiwan to declare martial law, seize total power, ban the opposition and muzzle the media, just like Korean president Yoon attempted two years ago. Which one would you bet on ?

While Washington and Tel Aviv’s latest imperial overreach in Iran sets global energy markets on fire, China is busy innovating 👇 China unveils game-changing underground in-situ coal-to-electricity innovation—rewriting the rules of low-carbon domestic energy Xie Heping's team at CAS/Shenzhen University has developed a zero-carbon direct coal fuel cell. No burning. No smoke. No steam turbines slamming into thermal efficiency limits. Instead, coal is oxidized electrochemically through a membrane—electricity generated directly, while CO2 is captured at the anode and converted into useful chemicals like syngas or sodium bicarbonate But here's the part that should keep Pentagon planners awake: it works 1.2 miles underground. Deep coal seams could be converted in-situ. No mining. No transport. No chokepoints. Just power transmitted upward. This advanced coal conversion technology eliminates destructive combustion, captures carbon on-site, and delivers stable baseload power with drastically reduced emissions, leveraging China’s abundant domestic coal reserves to build unbreakable energy sovereignty. So while Washington is out here starting wars to secure supply lines for a 19th-century energy model, Beijing is quietly turning its own geology into a silent, closed-loop battery—cutting carbon while cutting the cord on foreign oil This isn’t just energy tech progress—it’s how nations break imperial energy colonialism one strategic breakthrough at a time⚡🌍 interestingengineering.com/energy/chinas-…
