This is my #buildinpublic journey. 🇩🇪 I'm a PhD student, but my daughter speaks German better than I do. I'm tired of feeling "illiterate," especially with verb prepositions. So I'm building my own app to fix it. With (almost) zero coding experience. Wish me luck!

@rasbt So I get these to listen along as I read the actual book. Helps in concentration since my attention span is fubar from being chronically online since 2006.

I became a are of this book from a @ThePrimeagen video I watched today. As for the former head of Kindle, and HUGE @audible_com fan, I have so many questions for @rasbt - who is reading the audio book? (potentially voice to text?) - how is code handled? (likely skipped) - what financial analysis supported the decision to produce the Audiobook? - how many audiobook copies of coding books are actually sold? - did the author approve the final audio copy (meaning - listened to it)? If yes, what was that experience like?

@rasbt @bwatson @ThePrimeagen @audible_com I didn't listen to the audiobook itself but I turned the PDF to text using OCR tools (Docling) then opened it in the Edge browser and listened to its text version (by using the Edge read aloud feature), ignoring the code parts and reading them from the PDF and notebook versions.

I wrote the original text and code and had similar questions when I found that there was an audio book version. When I asked about it, if I remember correctly, the answer was that it is something they generate for all books to improve accessibility. Personally, I recommend the text version. That being said, I dunno, but perhaps the audiobook version works also well if you are working with the code notebooks (github.com/rasbt/LLMs-fro…), which have the code and figures (but not text). Would be curious to hear from people who listen to audio book versions of coding books and find out if this is helpful.
