A 12-year-old Palestinian girl lost both legs in an Israeli attack in Gaza and dreams of walking again using prosthetic limbs.

On 21 April, we mark the birthday of Narges Mohammadi, who turns 54 today, while spending her 130th day back in prison for her peaceful activism. Born on 21 April 1972, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate has dedicated her life to the fight for democracy, freedom, and women’s rights in Iran. For her commitment, she has been arrested 14 times, prosecuted in 10 cases, and sentenced to a total of 44 years in prison. She has already spent over a decade behind bars and still faces many more years. She has endured at least 161 days in solitary confinement under what is known as “white torture.” She has not been able to hug her children since 2015. Most recently, she was arrested again on 12 December 2025 and remains imprisoned to this day. On her birthday, we honor her courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to justice and we hope and fight for her freedom everyday, until she is free. Free Narges now. “We do not need our rights to be acknowledged or accepted. Our rights already exist. We want our rights TO BE RESPECTED.
