Teruel airport in Spain has once again become a parking lot for aircraft stranded in ‌Europe, this time due to the war with Iran, which has forced countries to close their airspace and airlines to reroute flights. The State-owned airport in eastern Spain, which normally serves as one of Europe’s largest aircraft maintenance and storage hubs, had around 140 planes park ​there over two years during the COVID pandemic. On Friday, around 10 wide-body aircraft arrived, ​the majority operated by Qatar Airways. A Qatar Airways A380 landed mid-morning after departing from London. Two of the airline's ​A350s and a Boeing 787 had landed by late afternoon. It is expected to receive about 20 aircraft, ​including 17 Qatar Airways aircraft by the end of Saturday.

A rare bird strike visual : China Southern flight CZ3554 made an air turn back (ATB) to Shanghai following a bird strike that damaged the aircraft’s nose Radome on 21 March 2026. The China Southern Airbus A330-343 plane (B-1062), that was operating flight to Shenzhen (SZX) from Shanghai Hongqiao (SHA), suffered a major bird strike shortly after take-off. Due to the impact, the radome's composite body was completely damaged and lost. The crew declared an emergency, returned back for a safe landing. #aircraft

Auric Air/ALS De Havilland Canada Dash 8-100, 5Y-BXI, crashes upon landing at Nairobi Wilson Airport, Kenya. ALS is known for operating flights on behalf of humanitarian agencies, including the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). First responders were seen at the site working to evacuate passengers from the plane, with rescue operations underway moments after the accident. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) is yet to issue an official statement.
