Collaboration in Action: IE 🤝UA On Friday, our colleagues from Irish Red Cross, alongside the @IrlEmbUkraine, spent the day in Zhytomyr to see firsthand the incredible work being done by @RedCrossUkraine staff and volunteers on the ground. During a crisis, physical aid like food and shelter is only one part of the recovery. The invisible wounds of conflict—prolonged stress, anxiety, and trauma—can devastate individuals, families, and entire communities if left unaddressed. That is why Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) is so critical. It provides the psychological first aid needed to help people process trauma, build resilience, and begin the long process of emotional healing. ❤️‍🩹 In Zhytomyr, local #RedCross teams are working tirelessly to deliver these exact lifelines. Our thanks go to @Irish_Aid, whose vital funding makes our collaborative work possible.

🏥 Hospitals in Kharkiv Region regularly receive large numbers of casualties. We are supporting a hospital in the southeastern part of the region, through building restoration. This improves conditions for patients & medical staff & strengthens infection control measures.

We were back in Nepal this month meeting with participants of our Climate-Smart Livelihoods Programme.  This year, together with our partner @NepalRedCross and in collaboration with @Irish_Aid and @forsa_union_ie, we are supporting 500 households in remote areas of Tanahu District. By focusing on marginalised communities, the programme provides training and grants that help families scale their farms and secure their livelihoods against climate challenges.  Your ongoing support makes this vital work possible. 🤝

Overnight, a wave of strikes devastated multiple communities across Ukraine, resulting in injuries and the tragic loss of life. No one should ever have to endure such suffering.

War is not only fought on front lines. It is lived in homes without power, in streets without safety, and in families trying to survive another day. Respect for civilians and access to aid are not optional; they are essential.

As armed conflict in Sudan enters its fourth year, civilians continue to bear the brunt of the violence. A new report from our colleagues at @ICRC the devastating civilian harm, including sexual violence, attacks affecting healthcare and damage to essential infrastructure. These are not inevitable consequences of war. #InternationalHumanitarianLaw exists to limit suffering in war – it must be respected by all.

3 Years of Conflict in Sudan. Thousands separated. But hope isn’t lost. Despite losing everything, #RedCrescent volunteers like Iman refuse to stop helping and are proving that even in the darkest circumstances, we can still choose to help each other. Read her story here: redcross.ie/international-…
