@greg_ashman It was called a foot bath and it was more concentrated than regular pool water. It was meant to stop verrucas/athlete’s foot being transmitted as far as I recall. The one at our pool was about 2m long by 1m wide and about 15cm deep.

When I was a child and we went to the swimming pool I used to have to walk through a shallow pool of disinfectant or something and I’ve mentioned this to my family and they don’t believe me. Was this a thing?

Ok, this was definitely not my fault. One of my brothers texted me to say there was a 2cv up for auction. Stupidly, I opened the link and bid on it. So now I’m the owner of a left hand drive 1957 2cv. All I have to do now, is go and get it. From Northern Ireland.
