If you look at ethanol just domestically, you can talk yourself into the idea that it's maybe not that big of a deal but it's actually an ENORMOUS burden on the global poor. Not a big deal electorally but a real moral scandal.

Yglesias suggests the window of opportunity for ending ethanol mandates is opening, because Iowa is no longer a key presidential swing state. I'm not sure I agree, but interesting theory!

I'm THE MOST pro-environment candidate in Ohio. Pollution is bad for our health, global warming is damaging to our economy, and nature should be conserved for future generations.
And I will tell you most "environmentalists" don't care about any of that.

AI is posing an existential threat to journalism: there's been a huge drop in page views, as people no longer have to click on search links to get the info they want.
But AI also relies on news sites to generate the info they scrape to answer questions.
Something's gotta give.

There's a difference between fraud and inefficiency. In practice and in appearance, it's probably often not that different. It's a murky space and that makes it difficult.

I have nothing especially against AI but I see AI generated text everywhere in politics. It's not doing the grunt work, or cleaning and summarizing, it's coming up with the thoughts and rhetoric whole.
One, it's repetitive. But two, it's bad for democracy. Have your own ideas!

I totally agree - as a proud Republican in the state of Ohio, I will not be turning out to vote for Vivek in November and I encourage all of my fellow patriotic Republicans to do the same.
