Without these three loveable rogues I’d still be a Toyota salesman in West Norfolk. Nothing wrong with that but I miss them and appreciate and respect them in equal measure. Life’s short, and I miss them… Tom Walkinshaw. Eddie Jordan. Ken Tyrrell.

@JustMikeMcKay Some of the travel blogs baffle me as some give 'tips' on the blindingly obvious. It's almost like having tips on 'how to order a coffee.' 😆 And anyway, half the fun of travelling is experiencing something new & unfamiliar. Sometimes it's great, soemtimes not ... a bit like life

Not a tourist in sight. Tun says she won't put this on social media, and then hopefully, that's the way it'll stay. She didn't share the Friends Cafe from yesterday either. It's not being selfish; it's knowing that once Thais go somewhere en masse, it's ruined. Let people find these places themselves - like we have. It's not difficult.

@Ajarncom They look very much like the Chinese 'beef roti' that are sold in KL. Something of a hit street snack over the last year or so. One shop on Bukit Bintang has queues down the road most days.

@Phuket_Sammy @Ajarncom I hate hanging around in airports so the sooner I can get on and off the plane the better as far as I'm concerned. Plus I want to be able to put my carry-on luggage above where I'm sitting and not 15 aisles away because there's no more space. Each to their own I guess :-)

@Ajarncom I've never understood the allure of priority boarding. I get it for free with Singapore Air / Scoot, but I don't get why I'd want to be on a plane for longer than I have to be, so always wait for final call. 😅

A great flight down to Krabi with Nok Air, and surprisingly, the plane had plenty of empty seats. Nok Air has left Air Asia way behind in my opinion. We splashed out the extra 350 baht for premium seats, and unlike Air Asia, they were well worth it. Loads of legroom and the priority boarding meant we were on the plane a good five minutes before anyone else.

@Ajarncom I liked The Jam, but totally get why he decided to split the band ... The Style Council did some great stuff but were a bit hit-and-miss after the first couple of albums. I like Weller's solo stuff most

I might be going to 'music hell' for this, but I prefer Paul Weller's solo stuff and his time as The Style Council to The Jam. I did like some of The Jam's stuff, but they never moved the earth for me.

@pureguava10300 Not sure if true, but it could be more aimed at migrant labour. There are similar crackdowns in Malaysia from time to time too. There are about 2.2mn migrant workers with papers here, and an estimated same number again without

I’ve been hearing rumors that Thailand is planning to deport 6 million foreigners. Can anyone confirm? Not sure which nationalities are affected…

@JustMikeMcKay But why are they working illegally? In a lot of cases it's because the employer is cutting costs and not processing visas. Confiscating passports, saying the visa is being processed and then paying a wage no local would work for seem to be fairly common occurrences

I remember my brief time living in Pattaya during the early 90s when news would break that the US Army were about to hit town on shore leave. The hardcore 500 baht a night mongers (less if they could get away with it) would walk around with faces as long as a gasman's mac. Many would just hole up in their apartments until the military had left. You couldn't compete with those muscular, handsome dudes with all their money to throw around..

I just read that people in Dubai don't like The Flintstones, which is strange, because the people in Abu Dabhi do. 😆
