#25Mar Hemos recibido varias denuncias señalando que algunos tribunales se están negando a darle a los familiares que se las solicitan las copias de las decisiones en las que niegan la amnistía. Es grave porque no se permite apelar de la negativa sin la copia de la decisión.

More on that joint US-Ecuador military bombing, from @USATODAY ... There is video of the Ecuadorian military taking away villagers, heads covered with black bags, days ahead of the bombing . The troops fire apparent warning shots at others watching. Days later, after being tortured, they were dropped on the side of the road hours away from their homes and told they'd be killed if they said anything. US response: our operations are meticulously planned and "any insinuation otherwise is false.” This is going to get worse and worse ...

Jaw-dropping: The U.S. and Ecuador said they had cooperated to blow up a cocaine trafficking operation. Our reporters visited and found it was just a dairy farm, whose residents were brutalized by Ecuadorian soldiers acting on Pentagon intelligence. nytimes.com/2026/03/24/wor…

(1/3) One year ago today, 250+ Venezuelans were unlawfully transferred and disappeared to El Salvador’s notorious Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), despite no proof of wrongdoing or legal basis for their imprisonment. These are their stories.

Last April, we traveled to El Salvador to meet our ten clients who had been detained there. As expected, we were denied access to both CECOT and the Centro Industrial Penitenciario in Santa Ana. The stories we heard from people previously held in these jails were horrifying. One man we met weighed 200 pounds before his detention. By the time he was released, he weighed only 108 pounds. A year later, our ten clients, along with more than 200 other Venezuelans kidnapped from our streets and sent to El Salvador, have been released. Yet no one has been held accountable for what they endured. They told us that while detained, they were tortured, starved, and brutally beaten. One man said a guard beat him so severely that his jaw was dislocated. Many others reported sexual abuse. None of our clients were afforded due process prior to their deportation. One was selected by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for resettlement and family reunification in the U.S. He completed all formalities, including medical and criminal background checks, and entered the U.S. in September 2024 through the Human Mobility Program. Yet the Trump administration still targeted him under false pretenses and sent him into torture for nearly four months. We cannot let these stories be forgotten. The secret agreement between the U.S. and El Salvador is still in place. This means that the U.S. government could kidnap anyone off our streets and send them to El Salvador once again without any real consequences. In June 2025, we sued to stop this illegal agreement from ever being used again. More information: rfkhro.org/3NobZZS

(1/3) Today, @CIDH held a public hearing on the 2009 killing of Bonfilio Rubio Villegas, a 30-year-old Indigenous man from Guerrero, Mexico. Bonfilio was shot and killed by Mexican armed forces at a military checkpoint while traveling on a public bus after visiting his parents. Sixteen years later, his murder remains unpunished. Our VP of International Advocacy and Litigation, @AngelitaBaeyens, joined attorneys from Centro de Derechos Humanos de la Montaña Tlachinollan to present the case before the Commission.

(2/3) Since the emergency decree was imposed in March 2022, more than 90,000 people have been detained and around 500 have died in state custody. Many are held in CECOT, the same prison the Trump administration paid to hold the illegally deported and disappeared people.
