2nd: In the real world, people are not paid to read your stuff, like your teachers were. So, everything you learned in school about writing is wrong.

I animated the first 10 seconds of Spider-Punk exploding on screen! For this running shot, I animated Hobie's body on 3s/2s, his guitar on 4s, and his outline on 2s/1s. The directors and supes liked it so much it sort of became the template for Hobie's framerate offsets.

@iFrankAbney Completely agree. Animation has merit as a means of filmmaking all on its own. Just the fact that everything is designed frame by frame means the final product will have a different feel.

@ImperialHal Good that placement is being favored tho, also I don’t think preds should ever lose points for a win because of not enough kills like in the old system, forcing them to ape the whole lobby

@ImperialHal Matchmaking still needs tuning to favor more balanced lobbies. Maybe there could be a penalty for having 0-50 damage (like the opposite of a “bonus”) where getting placement only results in no LP lost or gained to combat ratting.

I need as many Apex players to participate in this poll regarding the current Apex Ranked System, also if you can respond on why you picked a certain choice.

@Dropped @PlayApex And I think the comment about pros wanting ranked to be challenging and now complaining that something is off is misguided. They want it to be HARD to win, for there to be a lot of teams end game. A ranked BR should be about that, playing to be the last team standing.

@Dropped @PlayApex It was also a super aggressive change from the previous season in terms of difficulty. I feel like now maybe with some better ranked rewards players would be more responsive.

@lucianomunoz_ I am also a big fan of opening a new doc and just starting a list and saying to myself “I am not leaving till I have x number of new ideas for a story problem even if they’re terrible”. Even in nothing is exactly right usually there’s a starting point to work from

Does anyone have tips on brainstorming to push a story further?, I'm stuck. #animation

@lucianomunoz_ @CartoonCatalyst Sometimes it can be helpful to take the story elements but then change the setting to be something else. I.e. Moving your drama from a small town farm to a tech startup but maintaining the same general characters/plot etc.

@CartoonCatalyst yeah I've been chewing it on and off, going to roller skating, etc, i'm not sure the disconnecting has been the issue. It's not about coming up with a new idea, I think, it's more about finding a way to "finesse it" to make it better I guess?

YOU get to decide how to deal with the feedback you get. Handling it maturely is the mark of a great artist, and a wise human being.

@FramesByBlake I don’t have a clip of it as I don’t think it was ready when they sent me shots. It’s from the show Rusty Rivets at the end of the episode titled Rusty Feels Peachy season 1

Quick question for Animators. What is the most difficult/challenging thing you have had to animate. You don’t have to mention what project just the actual task e.g animating someone writing with a pen.

@FramesByBlake 1 shot that comes to mind is on a tv series I had a shot where a big robot had to jump and spin and stop two peach baskets sliding down a hill ( that two characters were controlling on a rotating cockpit thingy) and then come to a rest to a crowd of people who cheer at the bottom

Here's an acting shot I've been chipping away at outside of work. I loved the sentiment of the line and set out to stay true to it and animate something for the joy of animating. Big thanks to Nico for feedback on the shot and my sister for helping out with the initial reference!
