Great #AMS2022 Haurwitz lecture by the fabulous @IslaSimpson4 on "Future Projections in the Large Scale Circulation Response to Climate Change". Still many open questions in the circulation response to climate change, such as the stratospheric polar vortices in both hemispheres.

Has anyone used the JRA-55 model level data on NCAR glade/casper with python? It is supposedly GRIB1 (no file extension), and usually I use xarray with engine=pynio to open GRIB files, but it won't work :-( #pythonhelp I struggle so much with python. #hateit #hategribtoo

Currently available are Held-Suarez, Moist Held-Suarez, Aquaplanet, SCAM and dynamical core test cases. RCE is in, but it's not yet publicly available as a compset. Gray radiation coming soon too.
